Vacuum wound therapy wound dressing with variable performance zones
10632019 · 2020-04-28 · ·

A dressing for an open wound includes a cover layer dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The cover layer permits an evacuation of the space around the wound bed such that a sub-atmospheric pressure may be established to stimulate healing and facilitate the removal of fluid from the wound. Multiple performance zones in the cover layer allow the wound dressing to remain in position through repeated cycles of evacuation without placing undue strain on the wound bed. An outer peripheral zone may include a high peel-strength adhesive while an intermediate zone may include a shear resistant adhesive. A central zone may be devoid of any coating to maximize moisture transmission through cover layer.

A system is provided comprising a columnar sleeve of stretchable fabric, the sleeve produced in various skin tone colors and configured to slip upon an individual toe or finger and an absorbent padding configured for attachment to an inside surface of the sleeve, the padding configured to cover about one half of an interior circumference of the inside surface, the padding optionally infused with at least one of pain killers, antiseptics, and soothing gels. The system also comprises wax paper covering the padding prior to use of the sleeve, an applicator shaped to facilitate slipping the sleeve upon the individual toe or finger, and convex-shaped flex bands placed lengthwise into the sleeve. The flex bands exert downward pressure on one of a toe and a finger and are placed in a U-shape, thus promoting the downward pressure.

ANTIMICROBIAL HYDROGEL DRESSINGS
20190351092 · 2019-11-21 ·

Antimicrobial dressings effective for treating biofilms in wounds are provided. One embodiment provides a wound dressing containing a silver-releasing conformable substrate and hydrogel containing a therapeutic substance. The hydrogel layer optionally may contain a pattern and/or one or more apertures, and may be secured by an optional non-adherent netting. A preferred substrate is a silver-coated substrate, for example silver-coated nylon. The silver-coated nylon can be a knitted, woven, compound, or complex fabric. Silver fibers can be combined within non-woven fabrics. The silver containing substrate, can be non-adherent and/or may contain one or more apertures, and/or may contain elastane. The dressing optionally contains one or more of: an adhesive layer, a separation layer, a moisture regulation layer, a film layer, and combinations thereof.

PATCHES FOR LOCALIZED USE

The present invention relates to a device and a method. The device of the present invention comprising a patch comprising: a substrate, and an adhesive on the substrate. Further, the patch is configured to be attached to a skin via the adhesive to form a pocket between the patch and the skin, to allow introduction of a material into the pocket, and to hold the material within the pocket.

Bandage for Mixing Separated Liquids Communicated to the Skin of Wearer
20240123206 · 2024-04-18 ·

A bandage device having a flexible body with a plurality of fluid reservoirs thereon each containing a liquid topical treatment therein. Mixing areas located between the respective fluid reservoirs on the bandage provide for mixing and formation of liquid mixtures of the respective liquid topical treatments flowing thereto from the respective fluid reservoirs located adjacent thereto. The liquid mixtures from the mixing areas when absorbed through the skin of a wearer of the bandage yield an enhanced synergistic effect exceeding that of the individual fluids such medications or essential oils.

Multi-Layer Tubular Elasticized Wound Dressing

A wound dressing is made from a tubular inner layer and at least one outer layer disposed radially beyond the inner layer. The inner layer permits egress of fluid from weeping wounds, prevents desiccation of skin disposed beneath the inner layer, and prevents desiccation of ointment disposed between the inner layer and the skin. The at least one outer layer absorbs fluids that leak through the inner layer, protects the inner layer from outside contaminants, and prevents fluids from escaping. The at least one outer layer is affixed to the inner layer, and each of the layers is elastic in at least the radial direction. Optionally, a layer of ointment may be applied to an inner surface of the inner layer. Note that the tubular inner layer may be either pre-formed or formed at the time of application.

WOUND DRESSING WITH ANALGESIC BORDER ADHESIVE
20190209382 · 2019-07-11 ·

A dressing may comprise a backing layer having an interior region and a border region around the interior region. A dermal interface may be disposed in the border region. The dermal interface may comprise an adhesive and a therapeutic composition, such as a topical analgesic. The therapeutic composition may be dissolved into the adhesive, and preferably constitutes at least 20 percent of the dermal interface. In some embodiments, the therapeutic composition may comprise at least 30 percent of the dermal interface.

FOLDABLE ABSORBENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
20190192355 · 2019-06-27 ·

A foldable absorbent apparatus to ameliorate bleeding of a wound which includes a first and second absorbent pad layer to absorb a fluid, and a malleable material layer enclosed within the first and second absorbent layer configured to be formed in various shapes, wherein the malleable material allows the first and second absorbent pad layers to be formed in various shapes to apply a pressure to a wound while at the same time absorbing fluids from the wound to promote healing of the wound.

NASAL COMPRESSION DEVICE
20190167486 · 2019-06-06 ·

A nose compression device for treating a nosebleed of a person. The device includes a wire frame having a straight middle section and two end sections angled with respect to the middle section. The device also has a body attached to the wire frame, and two nasal sponges attached to the body for insertion into the person's nasal passages. The end sections are wider than the user's nose, and the device is slid upward on the user's face so that the nasal sponges enter the user's nasal passages. The end sections are then bent inward to a pinch position where they pinch the upper lateral side surfaces of the user's nose. The nasal sponges can be pre-treated with medication to further stop the nosebleed. Ice pack may also be provided that extends over the compression device. The combination of compression, medication, and cooling facilitate treatment of the nosebleed.
