PRESSURE RELIEVING DRESSING FOR PERIPHERAL INTRAVENOUS LINE
A skin protection and catheter securement dressing includes a body, a foam pad, a liner tab, a frame, and an adhesive strip. The body includes a plastic film with a transparent window, an adhesive surface, a recessed portion along one edge, and a second surface, covered on the perimeter by the frame to which the adhesive strip is attached. The adhesive surface is covered by release liner strips. The pad has an adhesive surface and an end hinged to the dressing body adhesive surface. A method includes preparing an IV site; placing a catheter; connecting an IV line; removing the liner tab; placing the foam pad under the hub; removing the liner strips; centering the IV line; adhering the film over the hub; removing the adhesive strip from the frame; removing the frame from the film; and adhering the adhesive strip over the IV line.
Self contained wound dressing with micropump
A composite wound dressing apparatus promotes healing of a wound via the use of a micropump system housed within or above a wound dressing member. The micropump system includes a miniature pump that applies a subatmospheric pressure to the wound to effectively draw wound fluid or exudate away from the wound bed without the need for a cumbersome external vacuum source. Hence, the wound dressing and micropump system is portable which allows the patient mobility that is unavailable when an external vacuum source is used. The patient does not need to be constrained for any period of time while exudate is being removed from the wound.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM
A releasable connector for a negative pressure wound therapy system having a drape and a tube includes a base and a tube fitting. The base is configured to be coupled to the drape such that a substantially air-tight seal is formed between the base and the drape. The base includes a base locking member. The tube fitting is configured to be coupled to the tube such that a substantially air-tight seal is formed between the tube fitting and the tube. The tube fitting includes a tube locking member. The tube fitting is further configured to be selectively coupled to the base through an interaction between the tube locking member and the base locking member such that a substantially air-tight seal is formed between the tube fitting and the base.
CONFORMABLE MEDICAL DRESSING WITH SELF SUPPORTING SUBSTRATE
A medical dressing comprising a backing layer and a self-supporting substrate. The backing layers form a perimeter around the self-supporting substrate and holds the self-supporting substrate in place on a wound. The medical dressing forms a sealed environment surrounding the wound such that a negative pressure can be maintained in the sealed environment through the valve.
Apparatuses and methods for negative pressure wound therapy
Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a negative pressure appliance and methods of using the same in the treatment of wounds. Some embodiments are directed to improved fluidic connectors or suction adapters for connecting to a wound site, for example using softer, kink-free conformable suction adapters.
Reduced-pressure systems and methods employing a leak-detection member
Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for detecting leaks in systems for treating a patient with reduced pressure. In one instance, a system includes a distribution manifold for disposing proximate to the tissue site and a sealing member for disposing over the distribution manifold and at least a portion of intact epidermis of the patient. The sealing member has at least a portion that is substantially transparent. The system further includes a reduced-pressure source associated with the distribution manifold for providing reduced pressure to the distribution manifold and a leak-detection member sized and configured to substantially surround the distribution manifold. The leak-detection member includes a detection material that develops a color contrast when a portion is exposed to air and a portion is not exposed to air. The leak detection member works with even low flow systems. Other systems, methods, and apparatus are presented.
Wound dressing and method of treatment
A wound dressing, a method of manufacturing a wound dressing, and a method of treating a patient are disclosed. The wound dressing may include an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate; and an obscuring element for at least partially obscuring a view of wound exudate absorbed by the absorbent layer in use.
Optical treatment apparatus and fixing tool
An optical treatment apparatus includes: a power source unit; a light irradiation module, that irradiates an affected part with light; a spacer that is positioned between the light irradiation module and the affected part; a fixing material that applies pressure to the light irradiation module and fixes the light irradiation module at an installation position; and a shielding material that covers the light irradiation module, in which, in a case where the pressure applied by the fixing material becomes lower than predetermined pressure, supply of current is stopped.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PERSONALIZED PATCH WITH THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Carefully coordinated patches having camouflaging and/or benefit properties can be formed for application to a desired region of human skin. The patches include a flexible film having a first, adhesive, outwardly facing major surface and a second outwardly facing surface which is textured to correspond to skin covered by the patch during use; wherein the flexible film further comprises at least one pigmented region and at least one region adapted to modify one or more optical properties selected from the group consisting of light transmission, light reflection, and light absorption. Methods of custom use of such patches may include 3D printing processes.
MULTI-LAYERED DRESSING
A dressing for use with percutaneous tubes/drains/pins and tracheostomies that is designed to be impermeable to aid in the prevention of leakage of body secretions or fluids and to help prevent microbes from entering the body around the percutaneous device from the outside of the dressing. The dressing includes three layers or more including a layer having antimicrobial, bacteriocidal, or hemostatic agents, a cushioned absorbent layer covered by an outer see through impermeable adhesive layer.
