The invention relates to a unit for hemostasis. The unit is configured to be directly applied to a bleeding wound and comprises an envelope enclosing an inner space as well as an effective amount of a hemostatic material disposed within the inner space. Furthermore, the invention relates to an arrangement of two or more such units for hemostasis, the units being coupled to each other. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for producing an arrangement of units for hemostasis. In accordance with the method, an effective amount of a hemostatic material is disposed within an interior region of a starting material, and neck regions are formed on both sides of the charge so as to form an envelope enclosing the charge.

Reduced-Pressure Wound Treatment Systems And Methods Employing Manifold Structures

Manifold structures, systems, and methods are disclosed that include using longitudinal members and one or more shaped projections to cause microstrain at a tissue site. In one instance a manifold structure includes a plurality of spaced longitudinal members and at least one shaped projection coupled to at least one of the plurality of longitudinal members for creating a microstrain at a tissue site. The at least one shaped projection includes a columnar member having a distal end and includes an enlarged member positioned at the distal end of the columnar member. The columnar member has a first outer diameter (D.sub.1) and the enlarged member has a second outer diameter (D.sub.2). The second outer diameter of the enlarged member is greater than the first outer diameter of the columnar member (D.sub.2>D.sub.1). Other systems, methods, and structures are presented.

WOUND COVERING WITH HAEMOSTATIC ACTION AND THE METHOD OF ITS CREATION
20190184057 · 2019-06-20 ·

The present invention relates to the field of medicine, generally to the field of surgical and emergency medical wound covering means on the base of haemostatic composition designated as Hemoblok. The invention proposes a new method of usage of these haemostatic compositions to activate the formation of artificial clots that can adhere to wounded tissue for the suppression of fluid loss and for the protection of viable tissue. The method consists of the steps to be applied to the open wound a grid-forming water-soluble haemostatic Hemoblok composition consisting of a polyacrylic matrix as an active ingredients, creating by Hemoblok the clot formation with the blood plasma proteins, preferably with albumin, creating a structure containing albumin molecules in the cells of the polyacrylic matrix (grid), which is the primary organizer of sustainable polyacrylic film, further forming by Hemoblok the multilayered solid polyacrylic film, then the replacement by fibrin of the surface structure hemoblok-protein and implementation of plasma formation of the polyacrylic matrix. Another object of the invention is a kit for creation of wound covering, comprising, packaged in association a Hemoblok composition, and a dispenser for applying the Hemoblok to open wounds, which is made as a woven or a non-woven fabric, a tube, a bandage or a container having at least one opening.

Reduced-Pressure, Linear Wound Closing Bolsters And Systems
20190175175 · 2019-06-13 ·

A reduced-pressure, linear-wound closing bolster has a pivotable frame that moves from an extended position to a compressed position under the influence of reduced pressure. The closing bolster may have a first closing member, a second closing member, and an interior space. A manifold member is disposed within the interior space and may be coupled to the pivotable frame. When a reduced pressure is applied, the pivotable frame is urged from the extended position to the compressed position.
