Transparent Tourniquet and Bandage Material System Utilizing Absorbing Components and Treatment Gas
The present invention provides a method and device for visualizing and treating an injury, wound or skin using a visual tourniquet and skin patch system made of transparent materials. The inventive bandage system is capable of applying pressure while absorbing bodily fluids away from the wound or skin and providing support for the application of one or more medicaments or a combination of treatment gas and/or medicine. The inventive bandage system enables the practitioner to visually inspect and measure the size of the wound over time without removing or touching the bandage or tourniquet thereby reducing pain and contamination of the wound bed. One embodiment of the inventive bandage system continuously controls the wound bed temperature thereby reducing pain and inhibiting bacterial growth. Other embodiments of the inventive bandage system are used as a visual tourniquet to apply a combination of pressures to a wound or skin.
WOUND DRESSING SYSTEM, MONITOR DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS
A monitor device (4) for a wound dressing system the device comprising a processor; a memory; a first interface connected to the processor and the memory, configured for collecting wound data from a wound dressing (2), the wound data comprising wound data from different sensor points of the wound dressing; and a second interface. The processor configured to: obtain parameter data based on the wound data; and determine an operating state of the wound dressing based on the parameter data, wherein the operating state is indicative of a degree of wetting of the wound dressing. The monitor device is configured to, in accordance with a determination that the operating state is a first operating state, transmit a first monitor signal comprising monitor data indicative of the first operating state via the second interface and, in accordance with a determination that the operating state is a second operating state, transmit a second monitor signal comprising monitor data indicative of the second operating state via the second interface.
Reinforced adhesive backing sheet
A backing sheet for use in a wound dressing includes a semipermeable continuous film laminated to an adhesive-coated apertured layer. The apertured layer is a solid substrate coated with a medically acceptable adhesive. A method of making a backing sheet for use in a wound dressing includes the steps of: forming an adhesive-coated apertured layer by coating a medically acceptable adhesive onto an apertured solid substrate, followed by laminating the adhesive-coated apertured layer to a semipermeable continuous film.
ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A SUCTION DEVICE SUITABLE FOR BEING PLACED ON A WOUND AND/OR AN INCISION
An assembly including a suctioning device suitable for being placed on an incision and/or a wound of a patient to disinfect and/or dry the incision or wound, the device including a drape. The drape includes an outer layer with an upper face and a lower face, the upper face being impermeable, an inner layer, made of non-woven sterile material, including an upper face and a lower face, the lower face to come into contact with the wound and/or the incision. The drape is wound around a limb or around the body of the patient. The assembly also includes a suctioning zone having cavities, a discharge tube connected to the suctioning zone, and a suctioning member is a system for recovering portable or mobile autologous blood.
WOUND DRESSING
The invention relates to a wound dressing comprising a carrier layer and an absorbent wound contact layer fixed to the carrier layer, which has wound contact surfaces spaced from one another by interstices in which the wound contact layer is not in contact with the wound, the wound contact layer being designed to be absorbent overall and in that the wound contact surfaces are connected to each other by connection regions of the wound contact layer.
WOUND AND BANDAGE PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A wound/bandage protector configured as a wrap, a sock/mitten, or a bandage may be made out of stretchable material. The wrap may have one or more fastening straps as well as possibly a first catch fastening surface. The sock/mitten may have a fastening strap and a sheath. The wrap, the sock/mitten, and the bandages may have apertures and aperture covers. In addition, the wound/bandage protectors as well as the bandages may have diamond or triangular gauze configurations with the gauze pad having three or four primary corners, the primary corners of the gauze pad in most instances being oriented towards edges of the body portion or length or width tangents of the body portion, preferably mid-points or mid-sections of the length or width tangents or body portion edges.

DISPENSER FOR A STERILE BANDAGE ON A CONTINUOUS ROLL
A bandage configured to be administered from a continuous roll, comprising: (I) a first layer of flexible webbed material, the first layer including a self-adhesive disposed on a top surface; and (II) a second layer of flexible padded material adhered to the first layer along a longitudinal axis by the self-adhesive, the second layer having a width less than a width of the first layer so that a portion of the self-adhesive is exposed on each longitudinal side of the second layer; wherein the self-adhesive may releasably adhere to a bottom surface of the first layer in a rolled form so that, when unrolled, an adhesive bond is broken free of damaging the first layer; and wherein, when the self-adhesive is bonded to itself and opposing adhesive potions, the resulting peel strength is greater than a peel strength when the self-adhesive is bonded to skin.
WOUND DRESSING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A WOUND DRESSING
A wound dressing and a method for manufacture of a wound dressing is disclosed. The wound dressing comprises a top layer; a first adhesive layer with a proximal surface configured for attachment of the wound dressing to the skin surface of a user; an absorbent core layer; an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes arranged on a distal side of the absorbent core layer, the electrode assembly having a first part and a second part, the first part comprising connection parts of the plurality of electrodes and the second part being arranged between the absorbent core layer and the top layer, the second part comprising a plurality of sensor points distributed along a distal surface of the absorbent core layer; and a monitor interface configured for connecting the wound dressing to a monitor device, the monitor interface comprising a plurality of terminals configured to form electrical connections with respective terminals of the monitor device, wherein the top layer comprises a top layer opening configured to allow for connection between the plurality of electrodes of the electrode assembly and terminals of the monitor device.
