Buffered adhesive compositions for skin-adhering medical products
Provided are buffered adhesive compositions comprising a high molecular weight non-neutralized polymeric acid and a high molecular weight partially neutralized polymeric acid and products such as wound dressings and ostomy skin barriers incorporating the compositions.
Wound dressing
A composite wound dressing includes an absorbent portion coupled to the vapor permeable backing with a first adhesive and a wound contact portion having a first portion coupled to the absorbent portion with a second adhesive, and the wound contact portion having a second portion coupled to the vapor permeable backing with the first adhesive is disclosed. Further a skin securement portion coupled to the backing portion with the first adhesive, the skin securement portion including a semi-self adherent adhesive, and a void having a first size, wherein at least a portion of absorbent is accessible through the void. The wound contact portion has a size greater than the first size of the void.
Adhesive-containing wound closure device and method
A tissue bonding article includes a flexible material, an adhesive substance applied over at least a portion of a bottom side of the flexible material, and a polymerizable adhesive composition permeated throughout at least a portion of the flexible material.
Dressing with offloading capability
Illustrative embodiments of a dressing for treating a tissue site may include a fluid transport layer, an offloading layer, and a liquid deflector. The offloading layer may be in fluid communication with the fluid transport layer, and the offloading layer may include a force offloading region and a target region. The liquid deflector may be positioned between the fluid transport layer and the offloading layer. The liquid deflector may be configured to deflect a liquid from the tissue site into contact with the target region of the offloading layer. The target region may be configured to expand for offloading forces at the tissue site. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.
BREATHABLE INTERFACE SYSTEM FOR TOPICAL REDUCED PRESSURE
A reduced pressure tissue treatment system includes an applicator having an aperture, a first pad section, and a second pad section substantially covering the aperture and positioned substantially adjacent the first pad section. A fabric layer is located at least partially between the second pad section and the drape, and the fabric layer includes a woven or non-woven fabric made from a fiber material. A drape substantially covers the first pad section, the second pad section, the fabric layer, and the applicator. A reduced pressure source is in fluid communication with at least one of the first pad section and the fabric layer for providing reduced pressure to the aperture.
WOUND CLOSURE SYSTEM HAVING MICROCANNULAIC PATHWAYS
An apparatus includes a cannula that can establish fluid communication with a suction source, and a wound closure path dimensioned to cover a wound in skin. The wound closure patch can receive a topical adhesive to adhere to the skin and form a microbial barrier over the wound. The wound closure patch defines a channel. The wound closure patch includes a top surface, a bottom surface defining at least one channel interposed between the top surface and the bottom surface, and a fluid coupling section in fluid communication with the channel. The fluid coupling section can couple with the cannula to thereby establish fluid communication between the cannula, the channel, and the at least one opening defined by the bottom surface.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR INCONTINENCE UNDERWEAR
An incontinence underwear including a crotch area hosting a stitching, a first layer, a second layer, a third layer, a fourth layer, a fifth layer, a sixth layer, and a seventh layer, wherein the first layer is innermost, wherein the seventh layer is outermost, wherein the second layer extends between the first layer and the third layer, wherein the fourth layer extends between the third layer and the fifth layer, wherein the sixth layer extends between the fifth layer and the seventh layer, wherein the stitching extends through the first layer, the second layer, the sixth layer, and the seventh layer, wherein the stitching avoids extending through the third layer, the fourth layer, and the fifth layer, wherein the second layer is bonded or adhered to the third layer.

Vacuum assisted wound dressing
Apparatus for the application of topical negative pressure therapy to a wound site is described, the apparatus comprising: a wound contacting element for retaining wound exudate fluid therein; a wound covering element that provides a substantially airtight seal over the wound contacting element and wound site; a vacuum connection tube connecting a wound cavity to a vacuum source; and a vacuum source connected to a distal end of the vacuum connection tube.
