Wound or skin treatment devices and methods

Devices, kits and methods described herein include skin treatments with a book-like packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device used to apply a dressing to a subject. The packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device is used to apply and/or maintain a strain in an elastic dressing, and has a first support, a second support, and a primary bending region therebetween, the primary bending region comprising a primary bending axis, with the dressing attached to the first and second supports of the device.

Wound dressing, ingredient delivery device and IV hold-down, and method relating to same

An adhesive device used as a wound dressing, ingredient delivery device or IV hold-down in which inadvertent edge release of these devices along the periphery of the polymeric film layer is minimized when the handling layer, which is adhered to the polymeric film layer, is removed after application of the polymeric film layer to the patient.

ADHESIVE BANDAGE SYSTEM FOR MEDICATION DELIVERY AND INDICATION OF PROCEDURE LOCATION
20230181373 · 2023-06-15 ·

An adhesive bandage system features a first member with an aperture substantially circumscribed by an adhesive layer couplable to a patient's skin. A second member of the adhesive bandage is removably couplable to the first member, having an adhesive along an outer perimeter on a first side, the outer perimeter sized so as to overlap with the first member. In some methods of use, a user may adhere the first member to a patient skin, administer a topical medication through the aperture, and then adhere the second member so as to cover the aperture. The second member may be removed, as needed, to either add medication, replace the medication with a new medication, or to have access to an injection site with a needle or catheter.

A wound dressing for a burn or open wound is formed of a foam material body with an open center area. The thickness of the foam body creates a zone for air circulation and prevents contact with the wound. This may have a mesh, gauze or other air permeable cover over the open center area.

Barrier layer

A barrier layer and corresponding method of making provide anti-inflammatory, non-inflammatory, and anti-adhesion functionality for a medical device implantable in a patient. The barrier layer can be combined with a medical device structure to provide anti-adhesion characteristics, in addition to improved healing, non-inflammatory, and anti-inflammatory response. The barrier layer is generally formed of a naturally occurring oil, or an oil composition formed in part of a naturally occurring oil, that is at least partially cured forming a cross-linked gel. In addition, the oil composition can include a therapeutic agent component, such as a drug or other bioactive agent.

Negative pressure wound apposition dressing system

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical treatment and therapy of mammalian tissue. More specifically, it relates to coverings and/or dressings that provide negative pressure at mammalian tissue sites, such as at one or more sites of surgical, non-surgical, and/or traumatic wounds, to promote closure and healing of the wounds. A key embodiment of the disclosed invention entails the use of a dressing that comprises a sponge that is shaped so as to create a vector force inward bringing wound edges together to promote healing, especially upon application of negative pressure. Other key features of the disclosed invention are its simplicity, its low cost, and that it is completely mechanical and lacks the need for any electronic components. The disclosure also relates to devices, systems, kits and methods for providing said negative pressure at said mammalian tissue sites and promote healing.

A wound barrier pad is provided having a housing with a housing opening. The housing has a truncated conical shape. A base plate with an opening is disposed in the housing, and the housing is filled with a fluid or padding. The wound barrier pad may also be embodied to have a cylindrical shape, a rectangular shape or other shape. The wound barrier pad may be incorporated into a garment. In another embodiment the wound barrier pad includes a ring and an adhesive such that the wound barrier pad may be directly adhered to the patient, thus eliminating the need for the garment. In another embodiment there is a wound barrier device having a pad assembly and an anti-sheer member. The anti-shear member reduces frictional forces on the skin of a patient. In another embodiment a wound barrier assembly is provided for applying a negative pressure to a wound.

BIMODAL TREATMENT METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR GASTROINTESTINAL LESIONS WITH ACTIVE BLEEDING

The present invention relates to a long-lasting medical product for protecting or treating a lesion in the gastrointestinal tract. The medical product includes a protective covering, wherein the medical product upon application at and about the site of the lesion adheres to the gastrointestinal tissue and is capable of remaining at and about the site of the lesion for a time sufficient to allow the lesion to heal or be treated.

BAND FOR SURGICAL WOUND SUTURE
