The current invention concerns a multi-layer adhesive tape to compress and contract one or more scars, comprising: a top layer; a bonding layer adjacent to said top layer; a bottom layer adjacent to said bonding layer and opposite to said top layer; an adhesive layer adjacent to said flexible bottom layer and opposite to said bonding layer; and a first peelable liner at least adjacent to said adhesive layer and opposite to said bottom layer, wherein the widths of said top layer and bonding layer are larger than the widths of said bottom layer and adhesive layer, and wherein said adhesive layer comprises a rubber- or acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. The invention further concerns a multi-layer adhesive tape to compress and contract one or more scars, wherein said top layer has a thickness between 20 and 1100 μm.

The wound closure device includes a wound closure strip, the wound closure strip including a wound-facing side and a top side, the wound-facing side comprises an adhesive applied over at least a portion of the wound facing side of the wound closure strip and a non-symmetric, two-part release liner assembly detachably adhered to the adhesive, the release liner assembly including a first section and a second section with the second section including a wound closure strip-free portion forming a tab. In an alternate embodiment, the device is multi-segmented and the wound closure strip may be coextensive with the release liner assembly.

Sterile intravenous catheter securements and securement dressings that provide simpler, more effective, and lower risk intravenous catheter placement and securement in a patient are described. Catheter securement dressings may include one or more adhesive portions positioned and configured to maintain a position of a catheter assembly following catheterization. Catheter securement dressings may be secured to a patient with an adhesive portion, and the catheter assembly may then be placed into the patient through an access opening in the catheter securement dressing. Portions of catheter securement dressings may then by folded over and adhered to each other and portions of the catheter assembly to secure the catheter assembly to the patient.

In some embodiments, the tissue dressing may include a wound contact layer having a substrate material coated with a tacky hydrophobic silicone material, and silver-containing particles dispersed in the silicone material. The different surfaces of the substrate material may be coated with the silicone material having various amounts of tackiness. The silver material may provide antimicrobial properties when the tissue dressing is placed in contact with the wound site.
