Described is a venting device including a flexible outer covering defining an outer surface and an inner surface, a set of helicoidal venting strips, and a set of helicoidal buffers. The outer covering has a first end and a second end and a longitudinal axis therebetween. Each venting strip is anchored to the inner surface and extends substantially between the first end and the second end and the set of venting strips is arranged substantially helicoidal and defines a set of helicoidal seams therebetween. The set of helicoidal buffers includes a buffer covering an inner opening of each seam of the set of helicoidal seams where each buffer is configured to shield the inner opening of the corresponding seam from penetration and each buffer is anchored to at least one of the outer covering and a neighbouring venting strip of the set of venting strips.

The Protective Cast Cover is a cover you wear over your cast. It is made of fabric, any kind of fabric, waterproof, warm, breathable, what ever kind of fabric will work for an individual's needs. For arms it covers the whole arm with a mitten hand over the top of the shoulder. Some of them are shirts, just depends on what the individual request. The cover for legs covers the foot to the top of thigh and can be made as pants, or as shorts on the opposite side of the leg with the cast. If they are in double casts, then both sides would be made the same. This works for arms or legs. Again, just depends on what the individual request. The protective cast cover is meant to keep sand, or debris or even water out of the cast, and give people less stress about their situation.

One embodiment of a waterproof bandage for reliably protecting sensitive sites from water intrusion, despite potential flaws in the seal to skin, comprises three major components: the inner bandage, comprising an absorbent layer (1) and a waterproof layer (2); the outer bandage, comprising an absorbent layer (3) and a waterproof layer (4); and an adhesive layer (5) binding the waterproof layer of the inner bandage (2) and the absorbent layer of the outer bandage (3) together. When properly sized, registered and bonded, the outer absorbent layer (3) functions to wick away and to prevent any water that may penetrate the outer waterproof layer (4) from breaching or damaging the inner bandage. The waterproof bandage can be configured in various sizes as a bandage (FIG. 1), or as a sleeve-like cover for a protected site on hands, arms, feet, legs, and other parts of the body (FIGS. 3 and 4).

A penile condom catheter facilitates urine collection and egress of urinary fluids away from the body torso. A circumferential anchoring structure includes a web of flexible strands sized and arranged to at least partially contact a portion of the penis. The anchoring structure provides a flexible yet secure hold against the penis when flaccid and provides an increase in the hold when a longitudinal force is exerted upon the anchoring structure. An annularly circumferential penile skin covering material is affixed to the anchoring structure and sized to fit over at least a portion of the penis. A seal is affixed to at least a portion of a covering material, a covering material orifice, or an anchoring structure. A conduit is affixed to at least one of a covering material, a covering material orifice, a seal and an anchoring structure created to permit the flow of urinary fluid away.

Methods for installing brackets that protect the heel of a person wearing a non-loadbearing cast. In one embodiment two brackets are attached at two points on opposite sides of the foot, with one bracket below the heel and the other behind the heel with roughly 0.75 inch clearance. This arrangement serves to redirect a load that would have been applied to the heel. The loads are now directed to either side of the ankle at the two attachment points.

A system includes a disposable patch having a first side and an opposite second side, the disposable patch having a body formed from a flexible material, a plurality of sensors positioned on the disposable patch, an electrically conductive pattern on the disposable patch wherein segments of the electrically conductive pattern are electrically connected to the plurality of sensors, and a reusable patch for positioning on the disposable patch, the reusable patch having a plurality of conductive connection points. The conductive pattern of the disposable patch and the conductive connection points of the reusable patch configured such that in an operative position the conductive connection points of the reusable patch are electrically connected to the conductive pattern such that one or more electrical components of the reusable patch are electrically connected to the plurality of sensors of the disposable patch through the conductive pattern.

A cushion for use with orthopedic casts for encasing wrists, forearms and/or hands, when a finger, such as the thumb, is not itself encased in the cast, is provided. The cushion is manufactured from a moisture-proof, non-absorbent, closed-cell synthetic material, in the shape of a portion of a section of a hollow tube, so that when the cushion is placed against a flat surface, an inner surface of the cushion encloses a cavity or an empty space open at one end of the cushion. When the supplemental cushion is in use, the webbing that connects the human thumb and index finger is positioned in that empty space, and more particularly encased within the empty space of the cushion, so that chaffing and injury to that webbing during thumb movement and extension are minimized, while the wrist, forearm and/or hand are encased in the cast.

A toe protection assembly for inhibiting toes in a foot cast from being stubbed includes a basal strap that is positionable beneath a foot cast. A top strap is pivotally coupled to the basal strap such that the top strap can be extended over the foot cast when the basal strap is positioned beneath the foot cast. A ratchet strap is pivotally coupled to the basal strap such that the ratchet strap can be extended over the foot cast when the basal strap is positioned beneath the foot cast. A ratchet is coupled to the ratchet strap and the ratchet tightens the top strap across the foot cast. A barrier is coupled to the basal strap and the barrier extends across toes on a foot that is positioned in the foot cast. Moreover, the barrier is comprised of a rigid material to inhibit the toes from being stubbed during walking with the foot cast.

One embodiment of a waterproof bandage for reliably protecting sensitive sites from water intrusion, despite potential flaws in the seal to skin, comprises three major components: the inner bandage, comprising an absorbent layer (1) and a waterproof layer (2); the outer bandage, comprising an absorbent layer (3) and a waterproof layer (4); and an adhesive layer (5) binding the waterproof layer of the inner bandage (2) and the absorbent layer of the outer bandage (3) together. When properly sized, registered and bonded, the outer absorbent layer (3) functions to wick away and to prevent any water that may penetrate the outer waterproof layer (4) from breaching or damaging the inner bandage. The waterproof bandage can be configured in various sizes as a bandage (FIG. 1), or as a sleeve-like cover for a protected site on hands, arms, feet, legs, and other parts of the body (FIGS. 3 and 4).

The present invention relates to a medical fixation apparatus for a lesion. According to an embodiment, a medical cast comprises: an expansion band having a predetermined length; a pair of elastic fibers which are coupled to opposite widthwise edges of the expansion band, are coated with a water-curable synthetic resin, and can surround a body part; and a plurality of coupling units, which have a flat shape and, when the pair of elastic fibers surround a body part, are arranged at a predetermined interval along an edge at which the pair of elastic fibers face each other to connect the pair of elastic fibers.
