Cast Portal
Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices related to a cast portal. The cast portal can be for enabling selective access through a medical cast to a body part covered by the medical cast. One illustrative cast portal includes an interior portion that extends through an entire longitudinal length of the cast portal. The illustrative cast portal can also include an outer housing that defines the bounds of the interior portion. The outer housing can include a top end configured to be positioned distal to the body part covered by the medical cast. The outer housing can also include a bottom end configured to be positioned proximate to the body part covered by the medical cast. The illustrative cast portal can also include a protrusion extending radially outwardly from the outer housing and configured to mechanically couple with the medical cast for attaching the device to the medical cast.
Waterproof External Injury Protector
External-injury waterproof protector, of long service life as a product. The structure of the limb-insertion opening enables completely shielding out water to protect an injured area. The protector has a flexible pouch body composed of a waterproofing material, with a mouth at either one or both ends, and an extensible/contractible annular constriction component hermetically and adhesively attached to the one or both pouch-body end(s). The annular constriction component is furnished with a tube portion formed to enable covering a portion of the four human limbs in a watertight state, and a brim portion formed projecting radially outward from a mouth edge of the tube portion. The tube portion favorably is formed at a narrower diameter than that of the other end of the pouch body. The brim portion arcuately slopes gently in a flaring form, lending the mouth of the annular constriction component an arcuate sloping surface.
ORTHOPEDIC SUPPORT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
A support for application to a body area. The support has a network of flexible non-porous tubing interlaced at a plurality of junctions to form a lattice structure. The lattice structure includes apertures to allow for the flow of air and water to the body area. At least one liquid is contained within the network of flexible non-porous tubing and is configured to transform into a solid when acted on by an external stimulus. A padding layer is secured to an internal surface defined on the lattice structure. The padding layer further includes apertures corresponding to the lattice structure apertures such that the flow of air and water to the body area is not impeded by the padding layer.
Disposable water resistant protective cover cast and wound sites
A protective cover for use as a liquid barrier includes an enclosure having a supported front sheet and a back sheet. The enclosure is made of a flexible, liquid impervious material, the back face having a periphery in the interior of the back face that defines an opening; and an adhesive layer extending along the periphery of the back face for securing the periphery onto a body part, wherein the periphery is positioned and sized to define an opening that can accommodate a body part to be shielded from liquid.
Orthopedic cast splitter apparatus and related methods for splitting a cast
An orthopedic cast splitter apparatus for splitting an orthopedic cast may include a frame, a handle pivotally coupled to the frame, a drive rod configured to translate relative to the frame, and a jaws. The jaws may include a first plate coupled to the frame, and a second plate coupled to the drive rod and extending parallel to the first plate, with the second plate being configured to translate relative to the first plate. The jaws also may include a first tooth removably coupled to the first plate and extending beyond an end of the first plate, and a second tooth removably coupled to the second plate and extending beyond an end of the second plate, with the first tooth and the second tooth being configured to be inserted within a fissure formed in the orthopedic cast.
COMPRESSION GARMENT SYSTEM WITH TIGHTENING APPARATUS
Compression systems and methods for tightening a garment and/or applying a pressure through the garment may include a garment, a lacing system, and a tightening apparatus. The compression system may be used for tightening the garment about a portion of a body and/or applying pressure to a portion of the body by pressure applying regions of the garment. The lacing system may include lacing guide and at least one lace guided by the lacing guide members. The tightening apparatus may be coupled to the at least one lace and may be configured to apply tension on the at least one lace to tighten the garment about the portion of the body.
CAST-FORMING KITS CONTAINING A LIGHTING SYSTEM AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Cast-forming kits and casts are disclosed. Methods of making and using cast-forming kits and casts are also disclosed.
Post-Operative Support Apparatus for a Patient's Residual Limb
A post-operative support apparatus for a patient's residual limb includes: a planar, stretchable and flexible wrap panel sized to wrap around an outer circumference of a patient's residual limb, along a length of the patient's residual limb, where the wrap panel includes one or more fasteners (such as hook & loop fastener components) for maintaining the wrap panel in place around the patient's residual limb; a pair of substantially rigid, elongated side support panels to respectively apply to the medial and lateral sides of the patient's residual limb, over the wrap panel; a distal cushion to apply against a distal end of the patient's residual limb; and a retainer maintaining the distal cushion against the patient's residual limb.
Decorative patches and methods of using decorative patches
Decorative patches and methods of using decorative patches are described herein. Contemplated methods can provide non-pharmacological analgesia to a patient having a cast after a medical procedure. Contemplated decorative patches can comprise a first material layer and a second adhesive layer. In some aspects, the first material layer can comprise a napped fabric material. In some aspects, the second adhesive layer can comprise a zinc-oxide containing adhesive. In some aspects, the first material layer and the second adhesive layer can compose a moleskin adhesive such as those used for blisters.
ORTHOPEDIC CAST VENTILATOR
An orthopedic cast ventilator apparatus and related methods are provided. The cast ventilator includes an air pump disposed within a housing connected to an air delivery cuff via tubing. The air pump draws air into the air mover through a primary air filter and through an air intake aperture. The air pump also pumps air out through a discharge port in the housing, through a length of tubing, through a secondary air filter, and into an air delivery cuff. The cleaned air fills two arms of the air delivery cuff and is forced out through cuff discharge ports.
