Transparent metal fluoride ceramic
A method for producing a metal fluoride ceramic, comprising: providing a sedimented compound comprising metal fluoride particles having an average particle size lower than 30 nm and a solvent, partially drying the sedimented compound at a temperature lower than 65 C. until the partially dried compound comprises from 5 wt % to 45 wt % of the solvent, and sintering, for example in air, the partially dried and sedimented compound.
METHOD FOR SYNTHESIZING DIBORIDE POWDER BY DRY ROUTE
A method for manufacturing a diboride powder MB.sub.2 by dry route where M is a chemical element belonging to group 4 of the periodic table, from the reduction of an oxide MO.sub.2 of the element M according to the balance reaction MO.sub.2+B.sub.2O.sub.3+yR+xA.sub.2O.fwdarw.MB.sub.2+A.sub.2xR.sub.YO.sub.5+x, wherein R is a reducing element selected from Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, Y, Sc, and the lanthanides and A.sub.2O is an oxide of alkali element A.
Process for preparing a ceramic article containing sludge
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a ceramic article containing industrial, domestic or natural sludge, the ceramic article, and treated domestic or natural sludge suitable as raw material for the production of the ceramic article. The sludge (which definition excludes digestate that is obtained from a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) process comprising liquefaction of the organic fraction of MSW by addition of one or more enzymes) has been pretreated by a process comprising the optional step of drying the sludge to a moisture content of at most 10% by weight, resulting in dried sludge, and heating the sludge or dried sludge in a spouting bed incinerator and reducing the content of organic matter to less than 5% by weight. The invention furthermore relates to a process wherein the pretreatment comprises using the domestic or natural sludge as a food source for larvae.
Ceramic plate with colorful flowing cloud surface decoration effect and preparation method thereof
A preparation method includes: pressing and forming a ceramic base material to obtain a green body of a ceramic plate; applying a ground glaze on the surface of the green body to cover the base color and defects of the green body; applying a cover glaze on the surface of the green body after applying the ground glaze, wherein the cover glaze contains 0.2 wt % to 0.7 wt % of coloring metal oxide to make the coloring bright; roller-printing patterns on the surface of the green body after applying the cover glaze to produce a flowing cloud effect; and drying the green body with the roller-printed patterns and firing in a kiln. The present invention uses roller printing to print the patterns of cloud effect on the surface of the cover glaze, which form a sharp contrast with the color of the cover glaze, producing a better visually distinct effect.
Solid-phase-sintered silicon carbide article and preparation method thereof
The present application relates to the field of engineering ceramic materials, and specifically discloses a solid-phase-sintered silicon carbide article and a preparation method thereof. A method for preparing a solid-phase-sintered silicon carbide article includes the following steps: grinding of raw materials: mixing a micron-scale silicon carbide powder with a boron-containing sintering aid and wet grinding to obtain a slurry; spray granulating: adding a water-soluble carbon black and a binder to the slurry, stirring evenly, and spray granulating to obtain a granulated powder of silicon carbide; mixing; ageing: ageing the wet powder obtained by mixing to obtain a aged material; post-processing: subjecting the aged material to pugging, extruding, drying and heating.
