The present invention relates to a coated silicon carbide particle powder containing a silicon carbide particle, and a coating layer coating the silicon carbide particle, in which the coating layer contains an aluminum element, and the mass of the aluminum element per unit surface area of the silicon carbide particle is 0.5 mg/m.sup.2 or more.

The dispersion is a dispersion for a silicon carbide sintered body, containing: silicon carbide particles; boron nitride particles; a resin having a hydroxyl group; and water, wherein the dispersion has a pH at 25° C. of less than or equal to 7.0, and the silicon carbide particles and the boron nitride particles have charges of the same sign. The dispersion is manufactured by a manufacturing method of a dispersion for a silicon carbide sintered body, including a mixing step of mixing a water dispersion containing silicon carbide particles, a water dispersion containing boron nitride particles, and an aqueous solution containing a resin having a hydroxyl group.

Method of making ceramic matrix slurry infused ceramic tows and ceramic matrix composites

Methods of making ceramic matrix prepregs are described. The methods include exposing a coated tow of ceramic fibers to a ceramic matrix slurry comprising a solvent and ceramic precursor. The coating is at least partially removed and the slurry infuses into the ceramic fibers to form prepreg. Steps to form ceramic matrix composites are also described, including forming the prepreg into a green body, and sintering the ceramic precursor.

Methods of flash sintering have been developed in which particle are initially coated with thin layers by atomic layer deposition (ALD). Examples are provided in which 8 mol % yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) particles are coated with small quantities of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 by particle atomic layer deposition (ALD). Sintered materials that result from the process have been characterized. Sintered materials having unique characteristics are also described.

Disclosed are methods of forming a chamber component for a process chamber. The methods may include filling a mold with nanoparticles or plasma spraying nanoparticles, where at least a portion of the nanoparticles include a core particle and a thin film coating over the core particle. The core particle and thin film are formed of, independently, a rare earth metal-containing oxide, a rare earth metal-containing fluoride, a rare earth metal-containing oxyfluoride, or combinations thereof. The nanoparticles may have a donut-shape having a spherical form with indentations on opposite sides. The methods also may include sintering the nanoparticles to form the chamber component and materials. Further described are chamber components and coatings formed from the described nanoparticles.

Thermoelectric Nanocomposite Materials

Thermoelectric (TE) nanocomposite material that includes at least one component consisting of nanocrystals. A TE nanocomposite material in accordance with the present invention can include, but is not limited to, multiple nanocrystalline structures, nanocrystal networks or partial networks, or multi-component materials, with some components forming connected interpenetrating networks including nanocrystalline networks. The TE nanocomposite material can be in the form of a bulk solid having semiconductor nanocrystallites that form an electrically conductive network within the material. In other embodiments, the TE nanocomposite material can be a nanocomposite thermoelectric material having one network of p-type or n-type semiconductor domains and a low thermal conductivity semiconductor or dielectric network or domains separating the p-type or n-type domains that provides efficient phonon scattering to reduce thermal conductivity while maintaining the electrical properties of the p-type or n-type semiconductor.
