FOOT BANDAGE FOR COMPRESSION THERAPY OF LYMPHEDEMA
In a foot bandage for compression therapy of lymphedema on the foot, with a sole section, side sections connected laterally to sole section, which are joined to each other at least in a section that comes to lie above the heel when the foot bandage is applied, and at least a distal tab section made of an elastic material, which can be wound around the instep and fastened to a side section in order to exert compression on the foot, in which the distal tab section or each tab section has at least one pull tab on which fasteners are arranged, a proximal compression band made from elastic material fastenable removably to the side sections is provided. The compression band has at least a first fastener and is attached to the side sections by means of the first fastener above the heel, when the foot bandage is applied in area.
Device For Measuring The Therapeutic Observance Of The Wearing Of A Textile Item By A Patient, Instrumented Item Comprising Such A Device, And Measurement Method
A device for measuring therapeutic compliance with wearing a textile item by a patient. The device includes: a flexible electronic card having two opposed faces and designed to be integrated into the item in a manner such that one of the faces is disposed against a limb of the patient when the item is worn; two capacitive electrodes each disposed on one of the faces of the electronic card, orientated in opposing directions and capturing measuring signals which are a function of their environment; a monitoring system disposed on the electronic card and capable of generating compliance data from the measuring signals; and a communications system disposed on the electronic card and designed to transfer data remotely from the item. The device is suitable for selectively detecting Wearing, Not Wearing or Washing of the item, as well as for estimating a potential level of wear of the item.
Hand or Foot Compression Wound Bandage System
This invention relates to the field of a total covering breathable hand or foot compression bandage system that comprises a breathable hand compression wound bandage cover assembly; a breathable elastic fit compression sterile fabric hand or foot glove compression bandage insert which is inserted into the outer casing member of the hand compression wound bandage system; a plurality of sterile finger and toe tip absorbent pad bandages; adjustable cinching compression bandage straps that have a means to employ adjustable bandage straps to apply pressure to various potential user-selected wound locations; a wrist or ankle fastener which is integrated into the hand or foot compression wound bandage system at the wrist or ankle location to prevent the outflowing of blood or the entry of contaminates. Additional embodiments are a water proof model, have extra absorbency palm members that can apply extra wound pressure, or have pockets.
Absorbent wound dressing for wrapping around jointed limbs
A non-adhesive absorbent wound dressing (10) is suitable for application about a jointed limb. The wound dressing (10) has a first portion (20) adapted to conform to and wrap around an upper part of the limb, a second portion (30) adapted to conform to and wrap around a lower part of the limb, and a hinge portion (40) between said first portion (20) and said second portion (30), said hinge portion (40) in use lying adjacent to the joint of the limb. The wound dressing (10) also comprises a porous wound contact sheet (80) and a substantially liquid-impermeable backing sheet (90), the wound contact sheet (80) and the backing sheet (90) being bounded (50) together at their periphery and along lines that define a plurality of pockets (60) in both the first portion (20) and the second portion (30), the pockets (60) containing absorbent material (70).
METHOD FOR INHIBITING FUNGAL AND BACTERIAL INFECTIONS OF THE FOOT
A method for inhibiting fungal and bacterial infections of the foot enables a foot to be covered with a flexible, waterproof sheath while an upper region of the body is being washed. The sheath is donned on the foot before the upper region of the body is washed, so as to protect against carriers of the fungal contaminants, such as liquids, debris, and soap that flow towards the foot. The sheath is sufficiently sized and dimensioned, so as to snugly encapsulate the foot, and thereby inhibit moisture, soap, fungus, and bacterium that originate at the upper regions of the body from engaging the foot, anywhere from the ankle to the toes. The method enables the entirety of the foot to be covered with the sheath through a simple tugging motion. After washing the upper region of the body, the sheath is urged off the foot, and the foot is washed independently.
Conformable wound dressing and delivery system
Medical articles comprising a conformable wound dressing and delivery system. The wound dressing generally comprises a backing having a first major surface and a second major surface, an adhesive on the second major surface of the backing, and an absorbent pad proximate the second major surface of the backing. The backing extends beyond the perimeter of the absorbent pad, typically beyond the entire perimeter of the pad. The perimeter of the wound dressing has a concave feature that exhibits a local minimum. An axis extends from the local minimum to the perimeter of the wound dressing opposite the local minimum. The carrier overlies at least a portion of the backing on each side of the axis but does not overlie the backing along the axis. The wound dressing is especially designed for use on round or irregular shaped body parts, such as an elbow or heel.
Flexible wearable foot sling
A wearable foot sling for providing focal compression to portions of a wearer's foot, toes and leg, includes a sock member formed from an elastomeric fabric; a plantar surface portion having a thickened fabric pad; a plurality of tubes configured for engaged passage of the wearer's toes; a plurality of longitudinal fibers connecting the plurality of tubes with the thickened fabric pad; a circumferential band forming a tension path beginning at a dorsum portion, wrapping laterally around at a lateral longitudinal arch portion and gradually widening as it runs medially at a medial longitudinal arch portion, and continuing upwards toward the dorsum portion to form a closed loop; the circumferential band continuing laterally and superior across an anterior ankle joint portion, wrapping around a lower tibia portion and spiraling to the top of the sock member; and wherein the circumferential band applies tension along the tension path.
Medical dressing for a convex body part
Disclosed is a medical dressing having a pad and a border portion. The pad can have a rim and the border portion extends along said rim. The medical dressing can be arranged in a first substantially planar configuration and be folded along a first line, and a second portion of said medical dressing is formed and a second substantially cup-shaped configuration. The first portion can be facing and contacting said second portion. Said first substantially planar configuration the first and second portions can be connected by means of a fixed connection along a second line, which defines a second line segment having a first and a second end-point. The first and second line segments are connected at their respective first end-points such that an angle between 90 and 175 degrees is formed between the first and second line segments when the medical dressing is in the first substantially planar configuration.
