A compression garment for providing an adjustable pressure towards a body part is disclosed. The compression garment comprises a unitary single sheet of elastic material arranged to encircle the full circumference of a body part, such as a limb or the head. The sheet is folded or arranged to be folded in at least one predefined way, so that the folding forms one or more defined overlap(s) forming at least two overlaying layers of the sheet encircling the full circumference of a part of the body part. Hereby, the pressure profile of the garment can easily be adjusted by making use of the garment in different folded configurations. Markings may further be provided to provide guidance towards the predefined ways of folding.

A therapeutic medical garment including a knitted welt proximate one end thereof with a surface adapted for residing against the wearer's skin. The garment includes a ground yarn and a plurality of raised, skin-engaging stabilizer elements, such as elongate bars extending in spaced-apart relation around an inner surface of the welt and along a longitudinal axis of the garment to reduce a tendency of the welt to roll over on itself.

A medical compression garment is provided including a midline opening cut in a medial segment of the elastic garment, dividing its front fabric portion into first and second sections. Fasteners, such as hook-and-loop fasteners, are attached to the first and second sections which connect together to close the opening. Pulls may be included. To don the garment, a wearer places their legs into the garment and pulls the garment along the legs until its top is aligned with the groin. The wearer then inverts and pulls the first and second sections of the garment together and fastens them to close the opening. Afterwards, the wearer pulls up the garment until it reaches the waist. When the wearer subsequently wants to take off the garment, the wearer unfastens the first and second sections and pull the garment down from the waist. The garment thus facilitates the donning and removal process.

A garment is provided that is arranged to be worn on a lower limb of a human subject and to cover a knee of the lower limb of the human subject and/or be provided at, above or below the knee of the lower limb of the human subject in use. At least one section of said garment is arranged to provide a compressive force to one or more locations on the lower limb of the human subject when worn in use. The garment is arranged such that the part of said garment that covers said knee and/or is provided at, immediately above or immediately below the knee when the garment is worn in use has at least one region that applies no compressive force to the venous vessels of the knee of the human subject or any compressive force that is applied to the venous vessels of the knee is less than or equal to about 8 mmHg.

A garment is provided that is arranged to be worn on a lower limb of a human subject and to cover a knee of the lower limb of the human subject and/or be provided at, above or below the knee of the lower limb of the human subject in use. At least one section of said garment is arranged to provide a compressive force to one or more locations on the lower limb of the human subject when worn in use. The garment is arranged such that the part of said garment that covers said knee and/or is provided at, immediately above or immediately below the knee when the garment is worn in use has at least one region that applies no compressive force to the venous vessels of the knee of the human subject or any compressive force that is applied to the venous vessels of the knee is less than or equal to about 8 mmHg.

Clothing and methods for providing targeted and staged compression to portions of a lower extremity, such as a leg of a human may include individual pieces of clothing such as socks and the like, or multiple-piece clothing systems functioning together to provide targeted and staged compression to the lower extremity. One or more articles of clothing individually or together have a plurality of targeted compression zones. Each of the compression zones includes a superior portion extending in a generally superior-inferior direction and an inferior portion contiguous with the superior portion and comprising a portion extending in a direction generally crosswise to the generally superior-inferior direction of the superior portion. Other implementations are also described.

Clothing and methods for providing targeted and staged compression to portions of a lower extremity, such as a leg of a human may include individual pieces of clothing such as socks and the like, or multiple-piece clothing systems functioning together to provide targeted and staged compression to the lower extremity. One or more articles of clothing individually or together have a plurality of targeted compression zones. Each of the compression zones includes a superior portion extending in a generally superior-inferior direction and an inferior portion contiguous with the superior portion and comprising a portion extending in a direction generally crosswise to the generally superior-inferior direction of the superior portion. A top band (1, 1′) for garments (2), in particular for medical compression stockings or bandages, comprising a flexible basic body (3, 3′) with an inside (4, 4′) facing the garment (2) and an outside (5, 5′), wherein the flexible basic body (3, 3′) comprises a fastening section (7, 7′) for the garment (2) on the inside (4, 4′) next to a coupling section (6, 6′), and wherein the fastening section (7, 7′) is formed by an edge-side recess (8, 8′) in the flexible basic body (3, 3′), so that the garment (2) can be fastened, offset from the coupling section (6, 6′) of the flexible basic body (3, 3′), in the recess (8, 8′).
