Device for Collecting Seepage from a Tracheal Incision
The present disclosure provides a device for collecting seepage from below a tracheostomy incision on a patient by providing a pad with a groove running transversely to the flow of the seepage. The groove couples to a suction catheter tube which can apply a constant suction to the area of the groove, removing the seepage before it collects on the skin for too long or contaminates a patient's bed. This both increases patient comfort and reduces workload for nursing staff.
Methods and devices to reduce damaging effects of concussive or blast forces on a subject
The disclosure provides systems, devices, and associated methods for mitigating traumatic brain injury, injury to an ocular structure, or injury to the inner ear of a subject by applying pressure to one or more neck veins before and during an injurious event.
Tracheostoma device holder
A tracheostoma device holder for holding a tracheostoma device superimposed of a tracheostoma of a person is provided. The tracheostoma device holder comprises a rigid plate for attachment over a tracheostoma via a proximal side thereof, the plate being provided with a through hole, and a tubular tracheostoma device fitting, arranged circumferentially of the through hole, the tubular tracheostoma device fitting extending distally from a distal side of the plate. The plate is manufactured in a thermoplastic material, with a melting/softening temperature allowing for molding according to the local anatomic shape of the person through direct contact between the plate and the skin of the person. A method for adaptation of such tracheostoma holding device is also provided.
ADJUSTABLE BASEPLATE FOR USE WITH IRREGULAR TRACHEOSTOMAS
An adjustable base plate for use with a tracheotomy stoma includes a flexible membrane and a base component having an accessory mounting portion disposed in a center of the flexible membrane and adapted to mount a tracheostoma accessory. The base plate defines a conically shaped region formed by a plurality of conforming members extending radially from the accessory mounting portion that are laterally spaced from one another and connected to one another by a plurality of web portions formed by the flexible membrane. An adhesive material is applied to the flexible membrane.
TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY PROTECTION DEVICES
The disclosure provides neck collar devices and systems for the mitigation and prevention of traumatic brain injury, including concussion. Specifically disclosed are adjustable collars and systems, and collars having certain pressure sensing devices.
TRACHEOSTOMA PROTECTION
The invention relates to a tracheostoma protection device for covering a tracheostoma, comprising an open-cell foam cloth, an adhesive strip and an air-impermeable region arranged distally on the foam cloth and associated with the tracheostoma, the tracheostoma being concealable by means of the air-impermeable region. During use of the tracheostoma protection, the foam cloth can by moved at least to some degree outwardly from a contact surface about the tracheostoma.
Traumatic brain injury protection devices
A collar sized to be worn around the neck of a human subject has at least one member that defines an arc of less than 360 and greater than 180 having a diameter, a first compressor at a first end of the arc, a second compressor at a second end of the arc and a bend angle sensor. The collar is adapted to exert an inwardly-directed force on the first and second compressors when worn. The bend angle sensor is configured and positioned to detect a bend angle of the collar, wherein the bend angle correlates to the inwardly-directed force on the first and second compressors when worn.
