Low temperature sulfur tolerant tar removal with concomitant synthesis gas conditioning
A catalyst comprising NiO, a metal mixture comprising at least one of MoO.sub.3 or WO.sub.3, a mixture comprising at least one of SiO.sub.2 and Al.sub.2O.sub.3, and P.sub.2O.sub.5. In this embodiment the metal sites on the catalyst are sulfided and the catalyst is capable of removing tar from a synthesis gas while performing methanation and water gas shift reactions at a temperature range from 300? C. to 600? C.
Even carbon number paraffin composition and method of manufacturing same
Paraffin compositions including mainly even carbon number paraffins, and a method for manufacturing the same, is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the method involves contacting naturally occurring fatty acid/glycerides with hydrogen in a slurry bubble column reactor containing bimetallic catalysts with equivalent particle diameters from about 10 to about 400 micron. The even carbon number compositions are particularly useful as phase change material.
Nickel alloy catalysts for light alkane dehydrogenation
A novel catalyst composition and its use in the dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins. The catalyst comprises a Group VIII noble metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, iron, cobalt, and combinations thereof, and a metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, indium, phosphorous, zinc, and combinations thereof, on a support. The catalyst composition is an active and selective catalyst for the catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins.
BY-PRODUCT STREAM UPGRADING IN A PROPYLENE OXIDE/STYRENE COPRODUCTION PROCESS
The present disclosure relates to a method including subjecting an organic stream comprising at least one oxygenate to hydrotreatment, whereby a hydrotreatment product comprising ethylbenzene is produced, wherein the organic stream is a product of a process for the production of propylene oxide; and separating an ethylbenzene product stream from the hydrotreatment product, to yield a residual stream.

Method of Improving Selective Hydrogenation of Unsaturated Hydrocarbon in Aromatic Fraction Through Catalyst Pretreatment
Disclosed is a method for providing improved hydrogenation activity by pretreating a catalyst in a three-step manner before selective hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons in an aromatic fraction in the presence of an oxide-type bimetallic (particularly nickel-molybdenum) supported catalyst.
Catalyst for reduced nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in an oxodehydrogenation process
The present invention discloses a process to treat a ferrite based catalyst useful in the oxidative dehydrogenation of monololefins and diolefins which process includes a preheat step prior to use of the catalyst in the OXO-D reactor. The catalyst is preferably a zinc ferrite catalyst for the production of butadiene. It has been observed that substantially no nitrogen oxide emissions result from the use of this treated catalyst in the reactor unit during the oxidative dehydrogenation reaction.
Selective hydroxyl group removal from alkylphenols
A process for selective removal of hydroxyl groups from phenolic compounds is disclosed. The process uses a combination of catalytic hydrodeoxygenation and catalytic direct deoxygenation to convert alkylphenols into alkylbenzenes.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING UNSATURATED ALDEHYDE AND/OR UNSATURATED CARBOXYLIC ACID
Provided is a method for producing an unsaturated aldehyde and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid, which enables one to achieve an operation stably over a long period of time while improving an effective yield, even in a high-load reaction, and in the method for producing an unsaturated aldehyde and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid, multilayer filling of stacking two or more catalyst layers each containing a complex metal oxide catalyst in the axial direction of the tube under specified conditions is performed, and the catalyst layer on the most gas outlet side in the tube axis contains a catalyst containing a compound represented by a specified formulation formula.
