An absorbent article includes a chassis includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis. The elastically elongatable panel includes an ultrasonically bonded stretch laminate. The stretch laminate includes a first nonwoven and a second nonwoven, and an elastomeric film sandwiched between the first and second nonwovens. The elastomeric film has two surfaces and a skin on at least one of the surfaces. The stretch laminate further incudes a zone that is unactivated. The laminate is elastically extensible in a stretch direction. The elastomeric film includes activation stripes.

A waist gasketing element is disposed in one of the first or the second waist regions and joined to the chassis in a chassis attachment region. The waist gasketing element comprises an outboard lateral edge and an inboard lateral edge. The chassis attachment region comprises a first zone proximate to the outboard lateral edge and a second zone disposed longitudinally inboard of the first zone. Each of the first and the second zones comprise one or more chassis attachment bonds. The first zone comprises a first total basis weight and the second zone comprises a second total basis weight, wherein the second total basis weight is greater than the first total basis weight.

The present disclosure relates to an absorbent article comprising a wearer-facing surface and an opposite garment-facing surface. The absorbent article comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The topsheet comprises a nonwoven substrate comprising cellulose-based fibers, a first surface and an opposite second surface. The first surface of the nonwoven substrate forms at least part of the wearer-facing surface. The first surface comprises a first area having a first contact angle no less than about 100°, as measured by Contact Angle Test, and the second surface comprises a second area having a second contact angle no less than about 82°, as measured by Contact Angle Test. The second contact angle is smaller than the first contact angle.

The first regions are continuous and the second regions are discrete. A patterned surfactant is positioned on a garment-facing surface of the nonwoven topsheet. The patterned surfactant comprises a plurality of discrete, spaced apart elements. The discrete elements have an area between about 0.75 mm.sup.2 and 30 mm.sup.2.

A method for making a disposable absorbent article is provided. The method comprises the steps of providing a first nonwoven comprising synthetic fibers comprising a .sup.14C/C ratio of about 1.0×10.sup.−14 or greater, providing a second nonwoven comprising synthetic fibers comprising a comprising a .sup.14C/C ratio of about 1.0×10.sup.−14 or greater, converting the second nonwoven into a topsheet so that the topsheet comprises a Liquid Strike Through value of less than 4 seconds, and combining the first nonwoven and the topsheet with other absorbent article components to form a disposable absorbent article.

Configurable absorbent articles

Configurable absorbent articles are provided. The absorbent articles may comprise a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent articles may comprise a first waist region, a second waist region, a crotch region extending intermediate the first waist region and the second waist region, and an outer cover material joined to the backsheet and forming a portion of a garment-facing surface of the absorbent article. The absorbent articles may comprise a pair of leg cuffs and a fully removable fastening member. The fastening member may comprise a first fastener on a first surface of the fastening member and positioned proximate to a first end and a second fastener on the first surface and positioned proximate to a second end. The absorbent articles may also comprise a wetness guard.

A disposable diaper product useful for collecting a urine sample from an infant is disclosed. In one example the product may have a liquid control structure overlying a liquid impermeable backsheet, with a plan surface area defining a volume coextensive therewith, wherein a portion of the volume defined by at least 50 percent of the plan surface area contains no more than 50 percent by weight absorbent material. In another example the product may have a liquid control structure overlying a liquid impermeable backsheet, and have an average Liquid Release Ratio of at least 3 percent. A method for collecting a urine sample from an infant is also disclosed, in which a diaper is used for collection.
