SANITARY NAPKIN
The invention pertains to sanitary napkin (10) comprising: a topsheet (14), a backsheet (16), an absorbent core (12) arranged between said topsheet (14) and backsheet (16), two wings (24), the sanitary napkin (10) extending in longitudinal, transversal and vertical directions (L,T,V), the sanitary napkin (1) being divided with respect to the longitudinal direction, into a front portion (F), a rear portion (R) and a central portion (C) arranged between said front and rear portions, the central portion (C) being defined by the length of the wings (24) taken in the point in which they extend from the longitudinal sides (32) of the sanitary napkin (10) in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis (y-y), wherein a layer of adhesive (20) is arranged on the side of the backsheet (16) opposite to the absorbent core (12).
According to the invention, said layer of adhesive (20) is arranged on the backsheet (16) in a discontinuous pattern, said pattern of adhesive comprising: a first area of adhesive (40) arranged in the front portion (F), a second area of adhesive (42) arranged in the rear portion (R); a third area of adhesive (45) being arranged on the wings (24); wherein said pattern of adhesive comprises an adhesive-free area (46) between the first area of adhesive (40) and the second area of adhesive (42), said adhesive-free area (46) longitudinally extending on a length that is greater than or equal to the length of the third area of adhesive (45) with respect to the longitudinal direction (L).
Body attached absorbent article donning system
An absorbent article has attachment regions having body adhesive. The attachment regions have a protected condition where the body adhesive is fully covered. The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the protected condition to a fixed donning condition where a portion of the body adhesive is exposed and a portion of the body adhesive is covered. The attachment regions are adapted to transition from the fixed donning condition to a fully exposed condition where the body adhesive is fully exposed.
DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE HAVING UNDERGARMENT FASTENING ELEMENTS
An absorbent article comprises a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, the chassis having a body-facing surface and an outer-facing surface. The article also comprises a pair of side flaps comprising a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first adhesive. The side flaps have a proximal end and a free distal end wherein each distal end is foldable around an edge of an undergarment when applied on the undergarment during use to attach the first adhesive to the underside of the undergarment thereby attaching the absorbent article to the undergarment. Each of the side flaps is formed discretely to the chassis and is bonded at the proximal end by the first surface to the body facing surface of the chassis at a joint, and each side flap extends inwards from the joint in a lateral direction of the absorbent article with the first surface facing the top sheet of the absorbent article and each side flap is extensible. A process for preparing the absorbent article is also described.
Sanitary product system
This invention is directed to a sanitary product attachment means comprising a connection member (3) having a flexible base carrier (4), whereas on one main surface of the connection member (3) an underwear connection means (5) is present which is configured to fix the connection member (3) to a piece of underwear (12) and on the opposing main surface of the connection member (3) an absorbent member connection means (6) is present which is configured to fix the connection member (3) to the underside of an absorbent member (2, 2a).
Devices and methods for treating accidental bowel leakage
Described here are body liners and methods for treating accidental bowel leakage using one or more body liners. The body liners may be formed from one or more liner layers and in some instances may comprise one or more adhesive regions to connect the body liners to the skin of a wearer. The body liners may be configured to absorb fluid, and may selectively distribute fluid relative to the body liner.
Reusable shield and liner for use during menstruation
A reusable shield and liner for use by a woman during menstruation is disclosed. The liner is octagonal in shape and comprises two or more layers. The shield contains one water-resistant layer.
Sanitary Napkin
A sanitary napkin for retention of vulvar discharge includes a shell that defines an interior space. The shell is flexible and liquid impermeable. A ridge, which defines a canal, extends from the front of the shell around a perimeter of an opening. An absorbent is positioned in the interior space and the canal. A pair of fasteners is coupled singly to and extends from opposing edges of the shell. A first improvement is the liquid impermeability of the front of the shell, wherein vulvar discharge is effectively retained within the interior space of the shell. A second improvement is the ridge that is positioned on the front. The shell is sealably positionable over the vulva of the user such that vulvar discharge is directed to the opening.
Method and apparatus for advancing an absorbent article
A converting apparatus operates to transfer a folded absorbent article from a first carrier apparatus to a second carrier apparatus. The converting apparatus includes a transfer apparatus and a guide member located adjacent to the transfer apparatus, forming a gap there between. The transfer apparatus includes a frame that is rotatable about a first axis of rotation and a transfer member that is rotatable about a second axis of rotation. The transfer member defines a receiving surface and the guide member defines a guide surface. The guide surface converges toward the receiving surface. The frame advances the absorbent article in a machine direction through the gap. While advancing absorbent article advances through the gap, the transfer member rotates the absorbent article about the second axis of rotation. The guide member includes side seam tuckers that are adapted to tuck the side seams of the absorbent article.
