METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CIRCULARLY POLARIZED MICROWAVE PRODUCT TREATMENT
An apparatus for applying a field of microwave energy for the processing of an absorbent article is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an elongate chamber having a longitudinal axis and first and second circularly polarized microwave radiation transmitting device radiatingly coupled to the elongate chamber and oriented so that the microwave energy is transmitted from the first and second circularly polarized microwave radiation transmitting devices is directed toward the longitudinal axis. The elongate chamber has a surface distributed about the longitudinal axis, a proximal end providing ingress for the absorbent article into the elongate chamber, and a distal end providing egress of the absorbent article from the elongate chamber. The second circularly polarized microwave radiation transmitting device is coupled to the elongate chamber at a position relative to the longitudinal axis that ranges from about 30 degrees to about 150 degrees relative to the position of the first circularly polarized microwave radiation transmitting device.

The apparatus comprises an elongate chamber having a longitudinal axis, a first microwave transmitting device radiatingly coupled to the elongate chamber at a first position, and a second microwave transmitting device radiatingly coupled to the elongate chamber at a second position. The first microwave transmitting device is oriented so that a first portion of the microwave energy is directed toward the longitudinal axis. The second microwave transmitting device is disposed so that a second portion of the microwave energy is directed toward the longitudinal axis. TAMPON SYSTEM WITH DRY WICK STRING AND DISPOSABLE POUCHES
A tampon system comprising a tampon and an outer package is disclosed. The tampon consists of an absorbent member, a gripping member, a non-absorbent tether connected to the absorbent member and the gripping member, and a substantially sealable pouch. The substantially sealable pouch and the tampon are contained within the outer package. The outer package may be sealed and biodegradable.
Disposable absorbent article with side lying leakage improvement
An absorbent article having improved leakage protection when the wearer of the absorbent article is lying on their side. The absorbent article has a surge layer in liquid communication with a portion of the garment facing region and a portion of a side edge of the absorbent core.
Sanitary pad with increased absorbability
A multi layered sanitary pad having a unique shape and design for snug fit, increased absorption, comfort, obscurity and enhanced leak prevention that includes a body made up of embossed fleece layers. The upper surface of the sanitary pad includes a central protrusion extending longitudinally and laterally from end to end and side to side, the cross-shaped protrusion including additional cotton wadding, for increased absorption and leak prevention for extended wear. The top surface protrusion is shaped and sized to slightly penetrate the vaginal opening to ensure a snug comfortable fit to increase absorption and enhance leakage prevention along with extended wear. The top surface includes (4) recessed portions surrounding the central protrusion area, for a snug fit, additional absorption, leakage prevention and comfort.
Medical systems, devices, and related methods
In one example, a medical system may comprise a delivery tube configured to couple to a vacuum source and provide negative pressure to a distal portion of the delivery tube; and a porous body at a distal portion of the delivery tube, the porous body including a first section and a second section removable from the first section.
Body conforming disposable absorbent article having leg wraps and internal topsheet and method of making same
A secondary internal topsheet and leg wrap structure is provided in a disposable absorbent garment such as a diaper or training pants. The leg wrap structure has a base layer, a top layer, and an elastic construction disposed inbetween. The elastic construction includes a plurality of spaced apart elastic elements that are aligned in a generally in generally parallel relation. The leg wrap structure and secondary topsheet provides for the efficient formation of a reservoir and a plurality of fluid dams each capable of capturing a quantity of fluid to minimize the occurrence of fluid leaks from the absorbent article. Methods of forming such absorbent articles are disclosed.
Discrete cord delivery apparatus
An apparatus for delivering a discrete cord having a fluid flow, a deployed cord supply, a transfer member having a first surface having one or more apertures, and a cutting apparatus having a cutting implement enabled to sever the deployed cord supply to form a discrete cord. The transfer houses a carrier that is aligned with the aperture and enabled to cross the aperture path. The fluid flow directs the deployed cord supply towards the transfer member first surface. The transfer member first surface abuts the cutting apparatus.
