MEDICAL GAUZE
Medical gauze includes a warp knitted fabric having a warp and weft direction and composed of loops continued in the warp direction. The warp knitted fabric is made of 100% long fiber containing 70% by weight or more of regenerated cellulose-based long fiber. The warp knitted fabric is preferably configured in a marquisette construction. The regenerated cellulose-based long fiber is preferably cuprammonium rayon. Preferably having a width of equal to or greater than 5 mm and equal to or less than 600 mm, and a weight of equal to or greater than 28 g and equal to or less than 290 g per square meter. As the warp knitted fabric is composed of the loops continued in the warp direction and made of 100% long fiber containing 70% by weight or more of the regenerated cellulose-based long fiber, the occurrence of lint can be reduced to improve lint-free performance.
SENSOR DEVICE FOR DIAPER
A sensor device includes: a first protective layer; at least one pad positioned on an upper part of at least a part of the first protective layer; at least one sensing pattern layer positioned on an upper part of at least a part of the first protective layer and electrically connected to one of the at least one pad; a flexible body layer positioned on upper parts of the at least one pad and the at least one sensing pattern layer; and a shield plate layer positioned on an upper part of at least a part of the flexible body layer.
SURGICAL APPARATUS AND METHOD
A surgical apparatus including a body having at least one port; and at least one item of surgical equipment; in which each item of surgical equipment includes an engagement member arranged to engage a port of the body, and in which the apparatus further includes a control circuit for determining for each port whether the engagement member of one of the items of surgical equipment is engaged to the port; and an indicator controlled by the control circuit and arranged to indicate whether each engagement member is engaged with the at least one port.

Apparatus and Methods for Monitoring Objects in a Surgical Field
A system and method for performing a package status check are provided, including a scanner for use in a surgical field and having an antenna for emitting a radio frequency detection field, the scanner including control circuitry configured to determine a predetermined quantity of sponges corresponding to a complete pack of sponges; count a number of sponges associated with the pack with the scanner prior to use of the sponges in a surgical field; and issue an alert when a number of counted sponges does not match the predetermined quantity corresponding to the complete pack. The system and method may include the control circuitry configured to determine whether a sponge has been re-scanned or is unknown by comparing detected information with previously detected information prior.

SURGICAL SPONGES WITH FLEXIBLE RFID TAGS
A surgical sponge is provided, having a radiofrequency (RF) tag positioned interior thereto. The RF tag has a base layer with at least one tab projecting from an outer perimeter of thereof. The RF tag has a first protective layer with at least one tab projecting from the outer perimeter of the RF tag and generally aligned with the at least one tab of the base layer and an RF identifier laminated between the base layer and the first protective layer. The RF identifier has an antenna, and an electrically responsive member. The antenna can be a metal foil loop antenna etched on to the base layer. The RF identifier can include additional metal foil provided on the base layer when the metal foil loop antenna is etched on to the base layer, the additional metal foil configured to enhance x-ray opacity of the sponge.
SYSTEM INCLUDING A WEARABLE ABSORBENT HYGIENE ARTICLE AND A HYGIENE MONITORING DEVICE
There is provided a system including a wearable absorbent hygiene article defining a front waist region, a back waist region, a crotch region and a longitudinal axis. The wearable absorbent hygiene article includes a liquid permeable top layer, a back layer opposite to the top layer, and an absorbent core in the crotch region and located between the top layer and the back layer. The absorbent core has a core length along the longitudinal axis. The system further includes a hygiene monitoring device including a sensing panel, which has an elongate flexible panel defining a longitudinal axis and having plates. The hygiene monitoring device is configured to measure the impedance between two of the plates. The extent of the plates along the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible panel defines a sensing length. The sensing length is 50% to 100% of the core length.

STERILIZABLE WIRELESSLY DETECTABLE OBJECTS FOR USE IN MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
Various embodiments of wirelessly detectable objects to be used in medical procedures are provided. Such may employ ionizing radiation hard wireless radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders, other wireless transponders and/or integrated circuits, and attachment structures, all of which retain structural and functional integrity when exposed to standard sterilization dosages of ionizing radiation. Additionally or alternatively, the wireless radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders, other wireless transponders and/or integrated circuits, and attachment structures, may retain structural and functional integrity when exposed to standard sterilization temperatures and/or pressures.
