The shaped hole defined in the unitary top layer crotch panel defines a perimeter. An elastic border extends around the perimeter of the shaped hole, and the elastic border is configured to stretch to facilitate insertion of an object. The additional crotch panel layer is attached to the bottom crotch panel to provide stability of the object placed within the crotch panel system.

A layer of waterproof material is sandwiched between the main body and the layer of absorbent material. Left and right elastic bands couple the layer of absorbent material and the layer of waterproof material to the main body along the respective left and right lateral edges of the gusset. A method for manufacturing the absorbent garment is also provided.
