ENDOGRAFT WITH BRISTLES
Vascular endografts and methods of making and using the same are provided. The vascular endograft includes an elongated body defining a lumen configured to allow blood to flow therethrough and further defining an exterior surface, and a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the exterior surface of the elongated body. In an instance in which the endograft is positioned within a blood vessel at a location corresponding to a blood vessel pathology, the bristles encourage positive remodeling of the blood vessel.
LANDING ZONE FOR ENDOVASCULAR PROCEDURES
Systems and methods for building a landing zone for an endovascular procedure are described. This procedure is “hybrid” in that it involves both direct access (e.g., sternotomy or partial sternotomy) to the site for installation of the landing zone, as well as endovascular installation of a TAVR or TEVAR device (e.g., stent graft) once the landing zone is installed. The landing zone is installed by wrapping a landing band around a portion of a vessel. The landing band may be selected to be fixed at a diameter so that it inhibits any expansion of the vessel, and also supports a later-installed TAVR or TEVAR device. The TAVR or TEVAR device is then endovascularly delivered to the vessel and deployed therein. The device expands until it contacts the vessel, which is supported from the outside by the landing band, which thus constrains and supports the device from outside.
Expandable trials
An intervertebral implant inserter, comprising: a) a elongated central body having a distal end, a proximal end, an outer surface, and a longitudinal throughbore therethrough, b) upper and lower blades, each blade having a distal end portion and a base portion, the base portion of each blade pivotally coupled to the elongated central body, c) a shaft having a longitudinal axis, wherein the shaft is advanceable within the throughbore and rotatable about the longitudinal axis, the shaft having a distal end forming a pusher having an acicular transverse cross-section, d) upper and lower endplates respectively detachably connected to the distal end portion of a respective blade.
Device that can be implanted in a minimally invasive manner and mitral valve implant system
The invention relates in general to the field of heart surgery. In the surgical field, instruments are used in order to examine the interior of living organisms and/or to use for operative interventions. These also include implants for the production of the functionality of a heart. The invention relates to such an implantable device and a method for eliminating regurgitation in the area of the heart. The implantable device is an annuloplasty ring with a large number of tissue anchors. An unfolded annuloplasty ring is positioned in the cavity of a body element in order to constrict a bodily opening. Using the minimally-invasive technique, each tissue anchor of the annuloplasty ring is intravascularly inserted in advance into a precise position on the edge of the mitral valve annulus. The annuloplasty ring that is configured in the shape of an arc or circle is mounted and fastened to the thus anchored fastening means in order to influence in size and shape the septal and lateral annulus of the mitral valve and to close the gap between the anterior and posterior cusps in the valve.
Eye Disease Implant Device Capable of Lowering Eye Pressure By Easy and Safe Method
The present disclosure relates to an eye disease implant device, and an eye disease implant device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a tube including a hollow portion through which aqueous humor is drained, wherein one or more wings extending in a direction different from a longitudinal direction of the tube are formed on a portion of an outer surface of the tube. Also, the eye disease implant device may further include a body including a receiving space into which an end of the tube is inserted. In this case, the end of the tube may be inserted into the receiving space to be coupled to the body, or detached from the receiving space to be separated from the body.
Apparatus and methods for delivery, repositioning, and retrieval of transcatheter prosthetic valves
Apparatus and methods are described herein for use in the delivery and deployment of a prosthetic mitral valve into a heart. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a catheter assembly, a valve holding tube and a handle assembly. The valve holding tube is releasably couplable to a proximal end portion of the catheter assembly and to a distal end portion of the handle assembly. The handle assembly includes a housing and a delivery rod. The delivery rod is configured to be actuated to move distally relative to the housing to move a prosthetic heart valve disposed within the valve holding tube out of the valve holding tube and distally within a lumen of the elongate sheath of the catheter assembly. The catheter assembly is configured to be actuated to move proximally relative to the housing such that the prosthetic valve is disposed outside of the lumen of the elongate sheath.
Suturing thread for facelift and body lift
The present invention relates to a suturing thread for providing a more efficient lift procedure, and provides a suturing thread for a facelift and a body lift, wherein the suturing thread is made of a polymer material and has a plurality of conical protrusions or a plurality of funneled protrusions formed on an outer circumferential surface of a main thread of the suturing thread.
Detachable sliding actuators for valve repair devices
Various embodiments of an implant delivery systems including at least one removable actuator to reshape a valve annulus are described. The systems may use the removable actuator to customize annular reshaping at a treatment site and withdraw the actuator from the treatment site following custom reshaping to provide a low profile annuloplasty implant.
Systems, methods, and apparatus for treatment of glaucoma
A glaucoma drainage device includes an elongated body extending axially from a distal end to a proximal end. The distal end forms a wedge with a leading distal edge. During implantation of the device into the suprachoroidal space of the eye, the wedge can facilitate penetration into and spreading open the tissue of the suprachoroidal space. The elongate body has one or more outer surfaces that define at least one open groove extending from at or near the proximal end towards the distal end of the body. With the distal end of the elongate body located in the suprachoroidal space of the eye and the distal end of the elongate body extending into the anterior chamber of the eye, the at least one open groove is configured such that aqueous humor flows along the open groove from the anterior chamber of the eye to the suprachoroidal space of the eye.
Annuloplasty device including tube-like structure
In some examples, the disclosure describes an annuloplasty device that comprises a tube-like structure configured to extend around at least part of a circumference of an annulus of a cardiac or vascular valve of a patient, and at least one anchor configured to anchor the tube-like structure to the annulus. The tube-like structure is configured to decrease a distance between valve leaflets that extend from the annulus.
