Cosmetic oil thickener and oil-soluble copolymer
The invention provides a novel oil thickener that can impart a thickening effect for oils used in cosmetics, and a novel oil-soluble copolymer that can be used as the thickener. The cosmetic oil thickener of the invention is an oil-soluble copolymer having a monomer unit composed of a hydrophilic monomer, a monomer unit composed of an easily-crystallizing hydrophobic monomer, and a monomer unit composed of a poorly-crystallizing hydrophobic monomer.
Fluorinated coupling agents and fluorinated (co)polymer layers made using the same
Fluorinated coupling agents and polymerizable compositions including such fluorinated coupling agents and at least one free-radically polymerizable monomer, oligomer, or mixture thereof. Multilayer films including a substrate and at least a first layer overlaying a surface of the substrate also are described, in which the at least first layer includes a (co)polymer obtained by polymerizing the foregoing polymerizable compositions. Processes for making a multilayer film using the polymerizable composition also are taught. Articles including the multilayer film also are disclosed, in which the article preferably is selected from a photovoltaic device, a display device, a solid-state lighting device, a sensor, a medical or biological diagnostic device, an electrochromic device, light control device, or a combination thereof.
HYDROPHILIC COPOLYMER AND HYDROPHILIC COMPOSITION
Provided is a hydrophilic copolymer containing a structural unit (a) represented by formula (1) and a structural unit (b) represented by formula (2), whereby a coating film having excellent hydrophilicity and antifogging properties can be obtained.

Composition, pattern forming method, semiconductor device, and method for manufacturing semiconductor device
According to one embodiment, a composition including a compound is provided. The compound includes a linking group containing 2 to 18 carbon atoms, a polymerizable functional group bonded to the linking group, a first reactive group bonded to the linking group, and a second reactive group bonded to the linking group. The polymerizable functional group includes at least one of a (meth)acryloyl group or a vinyl group. The first reactive group includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a thiol group, a disulfide group, and a thiocyanate group. The second reactive group includes at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkoxysilane group, a chlorosilane group, and a hydroxyl group.
