Foams so produced emit low levels of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein and propionaldehyde.
TWO-COMPONENT SOLVENTLESS ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING AN AMINE-INITIATED POLYOL
Two-component solventless polyurethane adhesive compositions comprising an isocyanate component and a polyol component comprising at least one highly-reactive amine-initiated polyol are disclosed. The at least one amine-initiated polyol comprises primary hydroxyl groups and a backbone incorporating one or more tertiary amines. The amine-initiated polyol further comprises a functionality of from 2 to 12, a hydroxyl number of from 5 to 1,830, and a viscosity at 40° C. of from 500 to 20,000 mPa-s. The polyol component can further comprise a non-amine-initiated polyol. The adhesive compositions are formulated such that the isocyanate and polyol components can be applied to separate substrates prior to mixing. Still further, a laminate comprising the adhesive compositions is disclosed.

Resin composition preparation apparatus and polyurea resin composition prepared using the same
A resin composition preparation apparatus and a polyurea resin are provided. A resin introduction unit is configured to inject a composition solution and air mixed in the composition solution. An air bubble generator is connected to the resin introduction unit. An air bubble separation tank is connected to the air bubble generator. The air bubble generator comprises: an inlet through which the composition solution and the air are introduced from the resin introduction unit; an outlet through which the resin composition is discharged to the air bubble separation tank; and an internal flow channel connecting the inlet and the outlet so as to pass therethrough. The internal flow channel comprises a groove portion configured to form the air bubbles having a smaller particle size than that of the air.

Drug Eluting Shape Memory Foam
Tumor resection is commonly practiced to prevent the progression of cancer. However, there are post-surgery concerns including the formation of a void that can allow cancer cells to escape at the surgery site, which increases the risk of metastasis. To counter this challenge, an embodiment includes a polyurethane-based shape memory foam as a tissue void-filling device that can also release anti-cancer drugs. Such foams may activate at body temperature and become malleable. Such properties may enable the foam to be shaped to precisely seal the tissue void and then serve as a drug-eluting device. Based on the drug composition with poly vinyl alcohol (PVA), the drug release profile from the foam may be altered depending on the application.
