Vegetable oil based viscoelastic polymers that display photoresponsive rheological and adhesive properties
Photoresponsive polymers that comprise a unit derived from an amide functional diol compound that includes a coumarin group are provided. Advantageously, the photoresponsive groups of the photoresponsive polymers may be used to control the viscosity of the photoresponsive polymer. The photoresponsize polymers may also include units derived from amide functional diol compounds with include a fatty acid chain or a polyethylene glycol chain. The photoresponsive polymers may be used for 3d printing. When an adhesive group is added to a photoresponsive polymer they may be used as an adhesive. Adhesive groups include catechol groups.
Amine-functionalized polymeric compositions for medical devices
The present disclosure provides amine-modified polymer foams, which may be used for wound dressing materials. For example, the modified materials can include a covalently attached molecule comprising free amine groups. Such amine groups can be used, for instance, to conjugate biologically active polypeptides and/or linkers. Methods for using modified polymers are also provided.
Method for treatment of carbon dioxide absorbing agent
There is provided a method that can realize the treatment of an amine compound, a deterioration product thereof and the like in a simple and a low-cost manner. The method includes treating a carbon dioxide absorbing agent, comprising a step in which at least one carbon dioxide absorbing agent represented by OHR.sup.2NR.sup.3R.sup.4OH or HNR.sup.6R.sup.7NR.sup.8H into contact with a compound containing two or more isocyanate groups in its molecule to produce a solid containing a urethane bond or a urea bond. In the above formula, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, and R.sup.8 each independently represent C.sub.vH.sub.wO.sub.xN.sub.y wherein v, w, x, and y are 0v10, 0w22, 0x3, and 0y3, respectively.
Bio-based polyols, esters, and surfactants
The present disclosure relates to methods for making polyols, esters, and surfactants. Generally, a carboxyl-containing molecule is reacted with an epoxide-containing molecule to obtain a hydroxylated ester. If multiple epoxide groups are present in the epoxide-containing molecule, the resulting molecule can also be considered a polyol. The hydroxyl groups can be further ethoxylated to obtain a surfactant/stabilizer.
Composition to reduce the amount of aldehydes emitted from polyurethane foams
An isocyanate reactive composition comprising At least one component selected from the group consisting of an isocyanate reactive component; a treating agent selected from the group consisting of cyclic urea substituted with at least one isocyanate reactive group, a free radical scavenger, or a polymer acid, or a mixture thereof; one or more amine components, each of said amine components having a given structure.

ADDITIVES FOR LIGNOCELLULOSIC COMPOSITES
An additive formulation for lignocellulosic composites comprising a) a first aqueous emulsion comprising i) a component selected from the group consisting of petroleum wax, a triglyceride, and combinations thereof; and ii) a first anionic emulsifier; and b) a second aqueous emulsion comprising: i) a reaction product of I) a derivative of a polyol selected from the group consisting of saccharides, sugar alcohols, sugar acids, gluconic acids, and gluconic acid lactones; and II) a polyisocyanate; and ii) an emulsifier selected from the group consisting of a second anionic emulsifier, a non-ionic emulsifier, and mixtures thereof, is disclosed.
COMPOSITION COMPRISING DUAL IONIC PH-SENSITIVE COPOLYMER FOR DELIVERING SDF-1 TOPICALLY TO THE BRAIN AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composition for topically delivering SDF-1 into the brain, in which the composition comprises a dual ionic pH-sensitive copolymer and a nerve regeneration and protective factor. In the present invention, when a dual ionic pH-sensitive copolymer containing SDF-1 as a nerve regeneration and protective factor is applied to a patient suffering from ischemic stroke as a drug carrier, it induces the effective delivery of the treatment factor to a topical lesion site, and moreover, the risk factors for adverse effects may be cancelled out, so that it can be effectively used as a novel therapeutic agent for ischemic brain diseases.
