Prepreg resin composition, prepreg and molded article
Provided is a prepreg resin composition, containing: a urethane (meth)acrylate (A) that is a reaction product of polyisocyanate (a1), polyol (a2), and hydroxy alkyl (meth)acrylate (a3); a polymerization initiator (B); and a thermoplastic resin (C), as an essential component, in which the polyisocyanate (a1) is at least one polyisocyanate selected from 2,4′-diphenyl methane diisocyanate, 4,4′-diphenyl methane diisocyanate, a carbodiimide modified product of 4,4′-diphenyl methane diisocyanate, and polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate. The prepreg resin composition of the invention is excellent in molding properties, and is capable of forming a molded article excellent in various physical properties such as flexibility, impact resistance, and heat resistance, and thus, can be preferably used in a prepreg and a molded article thereof.
ADHESIVE FOR CASTABLE URETHANES
Provided are adhesives containing a phenoxy resin grafted with methyl methacrylate (MMA) and/or methacrylic acid (MAA), and including a uretdione or a silane. The adhesive compositions are completely or substantially absent free isocyanate. The grafted phenoxy resin forms crosslinking which allows the adhesive to chemisorb to a metal surface, diffuse and entangle in a urethane elastomer and/or provide crossbridging and/or crosslinking across an interface of the adhesive and a cast urethane. Methods of adhering a castable urethane to a substrate, using the provided adhesives, are also provided.
AZIRIDINYL FUNCTIONAL COMPOUND
The present invention relates to compount (I) comprising at least one functional group A and at least one functional group B, wherein the functional groups A has structural formula A: wherein R.sub.1 is H, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently chosen from H, methyl or ethyl, m is 1-6; and the functional groups B has structural formula B: R.sub.5 is H or methyl, X is O or NH, Z′ is a polyalkoxy group or an omega-alkoxy polycaprolacton group, Y′ is a collection of atoms covalently connected in linear or branched configuration n″ is 0 or 1, and m′ is an integer from 1-6; with the proviso that the summed amount of the number of functional groups A and the number of functional groups B in compound (I) is from 2-13; and the compound has a molecular weight in the range from 800-10000 Dalton.

MULTI-AZIRIDINE COMPOUND
The present invention relates to a multi-aziridine compound having: a) at least 2 of the following structural units (A): (A) whereby R.sub.1 is H; R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 are independently chosen from H, a linear group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, a branched or cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, phenyl, benzyl, or pyridinyl; R.sub.3 is chosen from a linear group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, a branched or cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, phenyl, benzyl, or pyridinyl; or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 (in case R.sub.2 is different than H) may be part of the same cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms; R′ and R″ are independently H or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and b) a molecular weight from 600 to 20000 Daltons, wherein the molecular weight is determined using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry according to the description.

MULTI-AZIRIDINE COMPOUND
The present invention relates to a multi-aziridine compound having: a) from 2 to 6 of the following structural units (A): whereby R′, R″ are as defined herein m is an integer from 1 to 6; b) one or more linking chains wherein each one of these linking chains links two of the structural units A; and c) a molecular weight in the range from 840 Daltons to 5000 Daltons. The multi-aziridine compound can be used for example for crosslinking of for example carboxylic acid functional polymers dissolved and/or dispersed in an aqueous medium.

COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to an aqueous coating composition comprising a multi-aziridine compound and a carboxylic acid functional polymer, characterized in that (i) the composition is an aqueous dispersion having a pH ranging from 8 to 14, (ii) the aqueous dispersion comprises particles X which particles X comprise multi aziridine compound and particles Y which particles Y comprise carboxylic acid functional polymer, and (iii) said multi-aziridine compound has: a) from 2 to 6 of the following structural units A: b) one or more linking chains wherein each one of these linking chains links two of the structural units A; and c) a molecular weight in the range from 500 to 10000 Daltons.

WATERBORNE CROSSLINKER COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a multi-aziridine crosslinker composition, characterized in that the composition is an aqueous dispersion having a pH ranging from 9 to 14 and comprising a multi-aziridine compound in dispersed form, wherein said multi-aziridine compound has: a. from 2 to 6 of the following structural units A: (A) whereby R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are H; m is 1, R′ and R″ are according to (1) or (2): (2) R′═H or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, and R″=an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, CH2-O—(C═O)—R′″ or CH2-O—R″″, whereby R′″ is an alkyl group containing from 4 to 12 carbon atoms and R″″ is an alkyl group containing from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, (2) R′ and R″ form together a saturated cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon group containing from 5 to 8 carbon atoms; b. one or more linking chains wherein each one of these linking chains links two of the structural units A; and c. a molecular weight in the range from 600 to 10000 Daltons.

The invention relates to particular (aziridinyl hydroxy)-functional organic component. The invention further relates to liquid compositions comprising said (aziridinyl hydroxy)-functional organic component. POLYURETHANE-POLYISOCYANURATE COMPOUND WITH OUTSTANDING MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Described herein is a process for preparing a polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compound by mixing a) at least one polyisocyanate; b) a mixture (M); c) at least one compound including one or more epoxide groups; d) at least one aliphatic polyol (P1) having a high weight average molecular weight; e) at least one polyol (P2) having a low weight average molecular weight; f) at least one compatibilizer; and, optionally, g) fillers and further additives to form a reaction mixture (RM); and reacting the mixture (RM) to give the polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compound. Also described herein are a polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compound obtainable by the process and a method of using the polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compound for producing bodywork components for vehicles.
