Provided is a polymer capable of providing a coating film that has good initial adhesiveness to a base material and good adhesiveness thereto after a pressure cooker test, and has excellent abrasion resistance as determined by a falling sand abrasion test. The polymer includes a perhaloolefin unit, a vinyl ester unit that contains neither a hydroxy group nor an aromatic ring; and a hydroxy group-containing monomer unit. The polymer has a hydroxyl value of 110 mgKOH/g or greater.

Electromagnetic shielding filler, electromagnetic shielding coating comprising the same, preparation method and use thereof

The present invention relates to a shielding filler, a shielding coating comprising the same, a preparation method and a use thereof. The shielding filler adopts melamine sponge as a carrier and surfaces thereof are covered with FeO.sub.x/graphene. The electromagnetic shielding coating is formed by mixing a component A and a component B in a molar ratio of (—OH).sub.A:(—NCO).sub.B=1:1, in which component A comprises fluorocarbon resin, elastic polyester resin, an electromagnetic filler, an auxiliary agent and a mixing solvent, and component B is isocyanate. The shielding filler of the present invention has a sponge-like macroporous structure, the pore wall surfaces of which are covered with ferrite and graphene, and the shielding filler has excellent electromagnetic shielding performance due to the electrical loss and magnetic loss. The obtained electromagnetic shielding coating layer is electrically conductive and magnetically inductive and has a broad electromagnetic shielding response frequency band. The obtained electromagnetic shielding coating layer has a low density, which is in line with the development trend of lightweight. The coating is convenient to use, and can be applied by brush coating, spray coating, or roller coating.

Precursors for forming heterophasic anti-fouling polymeric coatings

An aqueous precursor liquid for forming an anti-fouling heterophasic thermoset polymeric coating is provided. The precursor liquid includes a first fluorine-containing polyol precursor having a functionality >about 2 that forms a fluorine-containing polymer component defining a first phase in the coating. The precursor liquid also includes a second precursor that forms a second component present as a second phase. The first phase can be a continuous phase and the second phase can be a discrete phase, or the second phase can be the continuous phase and the first phase can be the discrete phase. The discrete phase includes a plurality of domains each having an average size of ≥to about 500 nm to ≤to about 25,000 nm. A crosslinking agent, water, and optional acid or base are also present. Methods of making anti-fouling heterophasic thermoset polymeric coatings with such precursors are also provided.

COMPOSITION

A problem to be solved by this disclosure is to provide a composition, preferably a composition for forming a liquid-repellent coating film. This problem is solved by a composition comprising [1] a polymer constituting a water-repellent component, the polymer containing a constituent unit derived from (A) at least one modified fine particle containing (i) a core fine particle and (ii) one or more modifying moieties that modify the core fine particle, wherein some or all of the one or more modifying moieties have one or more polymerizable groups (a), and a constituent unit derived from (Bs) at least one compound containing one or more polymerizable groups (b) in the molecule, and containing fluorine; [2] a monomer (Bm) constituting an abrasion-resistant component; and [3] a solvent mainly containing one or more solvents selected from the group consisting of non-fluorine organic solvents and water,
wherein the ratio of the mass of the abrasion-resistant component [2] to the total mass of the water-repellent component [1] and the abrasion-resistant component [2] is 85:100 to 35:100.
