Aqueous polyurethane dispersions
The present invention relates to radiation-curable, aqueous dispersions based on polyurethane acrylates (i), which are characterized in that the polyurethane acrylate (i) comprises as builder components A) one or more aromatic polyepoxy(meth)acrylates with an OH number of from 20 to 300 mg of KOH/g of substance, C) one or more oligo- or polyesters containing unsaturated fatty acids with an OH number of from 15 to 300 mg of KOH/g of substance and an iodine number of greater than 50 g of I.sub.2/100 g of substance, E) one or more compounds with at least one group which is reactive towards isocyanate and additionally at least one group having a hydrophilizing action and F) one or more organic polyisocyanates, a process for the preparation thereof, the use of the coating compositions as lacquers and/or adhesives, and objects and substrates provided with these lacquers and/or adhesives.
Mixed-phase biomaterials
A method of preparing a mixed-phase thermoplastic biomaterial comprises contacting and reacting a diol and a graft pre-polymer comprising a diol and at least one covalently bonded unsaturated monomer with an organic diisocyanate compound. The reaction is conducted within an aprotic solvent and for a period of time and at a temperature sufficient to produce the mixed-phase thermoplastic biomaterial. The diol may be selected from the group consisting of siloxane diols, polyether diols, polyester diols and polycarbonate diols while the at least one covalently bonded unsaturated monomer may be selected from the group consisting of a fluorinated monomer, a siloxane monomer, an aliphatic ester of methacrylic acid, a cyclic ester of methacrylic acid, a charged monomer, a sulfonium salt, a vinyl monomer with phenol or benzoic acid, N-vinyl pyrrolidone, an aminoglucoside, and a therapeutic agent. The mixed-phase thermoplastic biomaterial may further include an anti-microbial, a therapeutic agent or both.
SOLVENT-FREE POLYURETHANE LIQUID MEMBRANE
The present disclosure relates to a two-component composition containing a polymer polyol, a dial chain extender, an aldimine of formula (I), optionally additional polyols and diphenylmethandiisocyanates in the two components. The composition is particularly suitable as a manually applicable solvent-free liquid film for coating and/or sealing floors and roofs. It also has a long open time, cures quickly and without complications in a wide temperature and humidity range, has a high level of strength and is weather resistant.
