Pulmonary arterial compliance enhancement device
11318029 · 2022-05-03 ·

Devices and methods for treating heart disease by increasing the pulmonary vascular compliance and thereby decreasing the right ventricular afterload are disclosed. Devices may include a means for reducing the cross-sectional area of the pulmonary artery during diastole and allowing the cross-sectional area to increase during systole.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRAVASCULAR PROCEDURES

The present invention relates to methods and systems for performing intravascular procedures. More particularly the present invention relates to a vascular treatment system that includes an elongate catheter having a configurable segment with a coaxial expandable member, an expandable ring fastener mounted on the expandable member and a handle assembly connected to the catheter that actuates the configurable segment to change shape and maintain that shape during deployment of the expandable ring fastener within the lumen of a previously placed endovascular graft to secure the graft to a vessel wall.

PROSTHETIC HEART VALVES

Some embodiments described herein include a heart valve replacement system that may be delivered to a targeted native heart valve site via one or more delivery catheters. In some embodiments, a prosthetic heart valve of the system includes structural features that securely anchor the prosthetic heart valve to the site of the native heart valve. Such structural features can provide robust migration resistance. In particular implementations, the prosthetic heart valves occupy a smaller delivery profile, thereby facilitating a smaller delivery catheter for advancement to the heart.

Apparatus And Methods For Anterior Valve Leaflet Management

In some embodiments, a method includes delivering to a native valve annulus (e.g., a native mitral valve annulus) of a heart a prosthetic heart valve having a body expandable from a collapsed, delivery configuration to an expanded, deployed configuration. The method can further include, after the delivering, causing the prosthetic heart valve to move from the delivery configuration to the deployed configuration. With the prosthetic heart valve in its deployed configuration, an anchor can be delivered and secured to at least one of a fibrous trigone of the heart or an anterior native leaflet of the native valve. With the prosthetic heart valve disposed in the native valve annulus and in its deployed configuration, an anchoring tether can extending from the anchor can be secured to a wall of the heart to urge the anterior native leaflet towards the body of the prosthetic heart valve.

Active Alignment of Commissures in Prosthetic Heart Valve Implantation

A delivery device for a collapsible prosthetic heart valve includes an inner shaft, an outer shaft, and a distal sheath. The distal sheath may be disposed distal to the outer shaft and about a portion of the inner shaft to form a compartment with the inner shaft, the compartment being sized to receive the prosthetic heart valve in a collapsed condition. The inner shaft and the distal sheath may be movable relative to one another. The delivery device may also include a tube member and an outer sleeve overlying the tube member. The tube member may be configured to rotate or twist upon axial movement of the outer sleeve with respect to the tube member, the rotation or twisting of the tube member configured to rotate the prosthetic heart valve when the prosthetic heart valve is received within the compartment in the collapsed condition.

Spinal surgery systems and methods

An intervertebral spacer may include a superior surface configured to engage a superior vertebral body, an inferior surface configured to engage an inferior vertebral body, and a peripheral wall extending from the superior surface to the inferior surface. A proximal end of the peripheral wall may include with a cam surface that is rotatable against a complementary cam surface of an inserter tool such that a first force causes the intervertebral spacer to pivot, relative to the inserter tool, about a pivot point associated with the cam surface.

Branch stent graft and delivery method for endovascular treatment of the iliac artery aneurysms

An iliac branch device has an external iliac body, a common iliac branch, and an internal iliac branch. A diameter of the proximal opening of the common iliac branch is greater than a diameter of a distal opening of the external iliac body. The iliac branch device is configured to be deployed without going up and over the aortic bifurcation and without using some form of supra-aortic antegrade access such as through brachial or axillary artery access. This simplifies the procedure and reduces procedure time thus maximizing the success rate of the procedure and allows the procedure to be performed on a broad patient population.

FORCE TRANSDUCTING INFLATABLE IMPLANT SYSTEM INCLUDING A DUAL FORCE ANNULAR TRANSDUCTION IMPLANT

An implant system for restoring and improving physiological intracardiac vortical flow in a human heart is provided including a dual force transducting annular implant comprising laterally extending struts transitioning into annular structural members for positioning on the atrial side of the valve annulus; an anchoring system comprising a therapeutic base plate assembly attachable to the apex of the heart; and a tether assembly comprising a tether connected between the implant and the therapeutic base plate assembly.

Surgical orientation system and method

A system and method for detecting and measuring changes in angular position with respect to a reference plane is useful in surgical procedures for orienting various instruments, prosthesis, and implants with respect to anatomical landmarks. One embodiment of the device uses dual orientation devices of a type capable of measuring angular position changes from a reference position. One such device provides information as to changes in position of an anatomical landmark relative to a reference position. The second device provides information as to changes in position of a surgical instrument and/or prosthesis relative to the reference position.

EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT

An expandable intervertebral implant is provided for insertion into an intervertebral space defined by adjacent vertebrae. The expandable intervertebral implant includes a pair of outer sleeve portions and an inner core disposed between the outer sleeve portions. Movement of the inner core relative to the outer sleeve portions causes the outers sleeve portions to deflect away from each other, thereby engaging the expandable intervertebral implant with the vertebrae and adjusting the height of the intervertebral space.
