PROSTHESIS FOR INGUINAL HERNIA
The present invention relates to a prosthesis (1) for the repair of an inguinal hernia, which prosthesis (1) is intended to be implanted by a posterior or open laparoscopic route and comprises: an openworked textile (2) made of biocompatible material, comprising a first face (2a) intended to be placed facing the biological tissues of the inguinal region, and a second face (2b) arranged opposite said first face and intended to be placed facing the peritoneum, said first face being provided with fastening means that are able to fix said textile in said biological tissues of the inguinal region, characterized in that at least a part of said second face (2b) is covered with a non-porous coating (7) composed of a material that is hydrosoluble at 37 C. and non-hydrosoluble at 25 C. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a prosthesis.
EXPANDABLE MEMBER FOR DEPLOYING A PROSTHETIC DEVICE
An apparatus for delivering a prosthetic device through the vasculature of a patient includes a radially expandable member coupled to the distal end of an elongate shaft. The expandable member has an open frame configuration and an outer mounting surface for mounting the prosthetic device in a collapsed state thereon. The expandable member expands radially outwards from a first configuration to a second configuration to expand a prosthetic device mounted thereon.
Modular humeral head resurfacing system
A set of surgical components for use in a joint arthroplasty to reconstruct a head of a joint is provided. The set of surgical components can include a head member having a first articulating surface opposite a first fixation surface. The first fixation surface can define a first portion that extends outwardly from the first fixation surface. The set of surgical components can include a base member having a fixation peg with three generally triangular fins and a second fixation surface defined as a recess within a top surface of the fixation peg. The first portion of the head member can be received within the recess of the base member to couple the head member to the base member.
Foldable accommodating intraocular lens
Accommodating intraocular (AIOL) assemblies for enabling post implantation in situ manual selective displacement of an AIOL along a human eye's visual axis relative to stationary anchor points. Axial displacement may be over a continuous range or alternatively at discrete axial stopping positions typically from about 100 ?m to about 300 ?m apart. Novels AIOLs designed to be at least partially folded for facilitating insertion into a human eye through a relatively small incision.
Repair Clip For Variable Tissue Thickness
Fixation device for fixation of heart valve leaflets includes an elongate central member defining a longitudinal axis of the fixation device and first and second arms rotatable about at least one arm hinge point between an open position and a closed position. The fixation device further includes a first gripping element rotatable about a first gripping element axis of rotation to capture a first leaflet of a heart valve between the first gripping element and the first arm, and a second gripping element rotatable about a second gripping element axis of rotation to capture a second leaflet of a heart valve between the second gripping element and the second arm. At least one of the first gripping element axis of rotation and the second gripping element axis of rotation is variably offset from the arm hinge point by an axis offset distance defined along the longitudinal axis.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THERAPY OF AORTIC VALVE
A device (100) for supporting a valve annulus is described that includes spaced apart support members (105) and a connecting member (110) extending between and connecting the support members. At least one adjustor (115) is also provided that is engaged with the connecting member and can be actuated to modify a length of the connecting member between two adjacent support members. In addition, each support member may include at least two channels extending through the support members at different heights with respect to an overall thickness of the respective support member. Each channel may receive a portion of the connecting member therethrough, and each support member may further include a passageway between the channels to allow selection of one of the channels. In this way, the device may be adjusted in at least two dimensions to support the valve leaflets and promote sufficient closure of the leaflets.
HEART VALVE IMPLANT COMMISSURE SUPPORT STRUCTURE
A replacement heart valve implant defining a central longitudinal axis extending from an upstream end to a downstream end may include an expandable anchor member configured to shift between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, a circumferential support member distinct from and attached to the expandable anchor member, at least a portion of the circumferential support member extending downstream of the expandable anchor member, and a plurality of valve leaflets secured to the expandable anchor member. The plurality of valve leaflets may include a valve leaflet commissure movable from a first longitudinal position relative to the downstream end in the delivery configuration to a second longitudinal position relative to the downstream end in the deployed configuration.
Spinal implant with attachment system
The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a spinal implant assembly having features to prevent or minimize fixation elements, such as screws, from being dislodged, or from backing out over time and with use. The spinal implant assembly may comprise an implantable body having first apertures for receiving fixation elements. A plate configured to nest against the posterior portion of the implantable body and comprising one or more second apertures can be provided. These second apertures permit access to the head portions of the fixation elements. One or more locking elements are then passed through the second apertures and engage the head portions of the fixation elements. In addition, the plate may comprise an adjustable arm to allow the plate to be used with implantable bodies of different size.
Stent with retractable anchors
A stent includes a tubular support structure extending from a distal end to a proximal end, the tubular support structure including an inner surface and an outer surface. A retractable anchor system is disposed relative to the tubular support structure and includes a frame member and a plurality of retractable anchors secured to the frame member. The plurality of retractable anchors are biased to a deployed configuration in which the plurality of retractable anchors extend radially outward from the outer surface of the tubular support structure but are radially inwardly compressible into a delivery configuration.
Accommodating intraocular lens
An accommodating intraocular lens (IOL) comprises an anterior lens, a posterior surface and an articulating member joining the anterior lens and the posterior surface to define an enclosed cavity. The articulating member comprises anterior and posterior arms coupling the anterior lens and the posterior surface, respectively. The articulating member further comprising a peripheral portion. A posterior flex region is disposed about the posterior arm and at a distance from the peripheral portion. The posterior flex region permits the flexible posterior surface to articulate relative to the posterior arm, to decrease the radius of curvature of the posterior surface as the peripheral portions on opposing sides of the IOL move toward one another in a first state and to increase the radius of curvature of the posterior surface as the peripheral portions on opposite sides of the IOL move away from one another in a second state.
