TREATMENT FLUIDS COMPRISING RECYCLED DRILLING CUTTINGS AND METHOD OF USE
A method that includes providing a treatment fluid having an aqueous base fluid and ground drilling cuttings and placing the treatment fluid in a subterranean formation.
POLYMERIC DRAG REDUCING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING DRAG AND/OR INCREASING VISCOSITY OF FLUIDS IN OIL AND/OR GAS WELLS
Polymeric drag reducing compositions comprising polymers for treatment in various aspects of a life cycle of an oil and/or gas well, and related methods, are provided. In some embodiments, the drag reducing composition comprises a fast-dissolving polymer and a slow-dissolving polymer slurry. In some embodiments, the fast-dissolving polymer comprises a cationic and/or anionic polyacrylamide, and the slow-dissolving polymer slurry comprises guar, clay, and oil. In some embodiments, compositions can be used in methods for treating an oil and/or gas well, having a wellbore. The drag reducing composition may be injected into the wellbore to reduce drag in the wellbore and/or increase viscosity of the carrier fluid.
BRINE RESISTANT SILICA SOL
A brine resistant silica sol is described and claimed. This brine resistant silica sol comprises an aqueous colloidal silica mixture that has been surface functionalized with at least one moiety selected from the group consisting of a monomeric hydrophilic organosilane, a mixture of monomeric hydrophilic organosilane(s) and monomeric hydrophobic organosilane(s), or a polysiloxane oligomer, wherein the surface functionalized brine resistant aqueous colloidal silica sol passes at least two of three of these brine resistant tests: API Brine Visual, 24 Hour Seawater Visual and API Turbidity Meter.
PHOSPHONATED POLYSACCHARIDES AND GELS AND PROCESS FOR MAKING SAME
Products and processes that are related to phosphonated polysaccharide compositions, including phosphonated polysaccharide gels, having a substituent degree of substitution with a lower limit of 0.02 and an upper limit of 3, and having a weight average molecular weight with an upper limit of 5,000,000 g/mole, as well as to oil field application or fracturing fluid compositions comprising such phosphonated polysaccharide compositions.
Proppant Materials for Additive Delivery
A proppant material can include a core and an extended-release coating overlying the core. The extended release coating can include a polymer and an additive contained within the polymer.
LIGNIN-BASED FRACTURING FLUIDS AND RELATED METHODS
Fracturing or fracking fluids are provided for fracturing a subterranean reservoir for hydrocarbon recovery and related methods. In some embodiments, the fluid comprises lignin, in particular technical lignin, and at least one strain of bacteria capable of biosurfactant production and/or a biosurfactant produced by at least one such isolated strain of bacteria. Also provided is a fracturing method for recovering hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation.
In situ generation of pH control agents
Methods and compositions for treatment fluids that include carbonate and bicarbonate to control pH for use in subterranean treatments are provided. In one embodiment, the methods comprise providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid; a crosslinkable polymer; a crosslinking agent; and an amount of carbonate and an amount of bicarbonate, wherein the molar ratio of the amount of carbonate to the amount of bicarbonate is in the range of from about 1:2.3 to about 1:2.7; and introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation.
SOLUBLE & FILTERABLE BIOPOLYMER SOLIDS
Described herein is a beta glucan material, comprising solid 1,3-1,6 beta glucan, that when solubilized, under specified solubilization procedure, has a filterability ratio less than about 1.5. Further described herein is beta glucan material wherein greater than 50% of ultimate viscosity can be recovered after running specified solubilization procedure for one pass and greater than 70% after two passes. Also described herein is a beta glucan material that when solubilized, under specified solubilization procedure, has less than 10% viscosity loss during filtration.
Thickening of fluids
An aqueous fluid, possibly a wellbore fracturing fluid, comprises an aqueous solution or dispersion of a first polymer, which may be polysaccharide, as a thickener and a cross linking agent to enhance the viscosity of the fluid by crosslinking the first polymer, wherein the crosslinking agent is a second polymer comprising at least one polymer chain with phenyl boronate groups distributed along the polymer chain and the phenyl boronic acid groups have nitrogen attached to the phenyl group at a position which is meta relative to the boronate group.
