Asphaltene Dispersant Composition
An asphaltene dispersant composition is provided. The composition may contain an alkylphenol copolymer having the following repeating units (A) and (B):

wherein, x is an integer from 1 to 200; y is an integer from 2 to 200; R.sub.1 is a straight or branched C.sub.1-C.sub.15 alkyl; and R.sub.2 is a straight or branched C.sub.2-C.sub.40 alkyl, wherein R.sub.2 is different than R.sub.1.
Paraffin Inhibitor Composition for Use at Low Temperatures
A paraffin inhibitor composition that exhibits stable properties at low temperature is provided. The composition may contain, for instance, an alkylphenol copolymer having the following repeating units (A) and (B):

Alkylphenol Copolymer
An alkylphenol copolymer, such as for use in a petroleum composition, is provided. The alkylphenol copolymer has the following repeating units (A) and (B):

Thermally Stable Macromolecular Compound and Petroleum Composition Including the Same
In one embodiment, an alkylphenol copolymer is disclosed wherein the copolymer comprises at least one alkylphenol monomer and the alkylphenol copolymer exhibits the following: an oscillation displacement of greater than 0 at a temperature of 5 C. in a first oscillation temperature sweep and an oscillation displacement in a second oscillation temperature sweep within 25% of the oscillation displacement in the first oscillation temperature sweep at a temperature of 5 C. In a further embodiment, a petroleum composition is disclosed wherein the composition comprises a petroleum source and a macromolecular compound wherein the macromolecular compound exhibits the following: an oscillation displacement of greater than 0 at a temperature of 10 C. in a first oscillation temperature sweep, and an oscillation displacement in a second oscillation temperature sweep within 25% of the oscillation displacement in the first oscillation temperature sweep at a temperature of 10 C.
Wax inhibitors with improved flowability
This invention provides a wax inhibitor composition comprising A) the reaction product obtainable by reaction of i) a carboxylic acid containing an optionally substituted cycloaliphatic hydrocarbyl residue with ii) an alkylene polyamine, B) a polymeric wax inhibitor, and C) an organic solvent.
Dispersions of polymeric oil additives
The invention provides dispersions comprising I) at least one oil-soluble polymer effective as a cold flow improver for mineral oils, II) at least one organic, water-immiscible solvent, III) a dispersant comprising, based on the total amount of dispersant, a) 10-90% by weight of a salt of an ethercarboxylic acid and b) 90-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, IV) water and V) at least one organic, water-miscible solvent.
Ionic Liquid Based Well Asphaltene Inhibitors and Methods of Using the Same
Methods of treating a petroleum hydrocarbon fluid are described wherein the petroleum hydrocarbon fluid is contacted with an asphaltene inhibitor composition having an ionic liquid and an asphaltene inhibitor. The ionic liquid has a cation of R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3R.sup.4N.sup.+ or R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3N.sup.+R.sup.8N.sup.+R.sup.5R.sup.6R.sup.7 and an anion, wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are independently selected from hydrogen, a straight or branched C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, benzyl, a C.sub.7-30 alkylbenzyl group, a C.sub.7-30 arylalkyl group, a straight or branched C.sub.3-30 alkenyl group, a C.sub.1-30 hydroxyalkyl group, a C.sub.7-30 hydroxyalkylbenzyl group, an oxyalkylene or a polyoxyalkylene group or a zwitterion; R.sup.8 is a straight or branched C.sub.1-30 alkylene, an alkylene oxyalkylene or an alkylene polyoxyalkylene; and the anion includes halides, hydroxyl, bicarbonate, carbonate, alkyl carbonates, alkoxides, carboxylates, hydroxycarboxylates or a combination thereof.
PHENOL ALDEHYDES ASPHALTENE INHIBITORS
A method of stabilizing asphaltenes in a petroleum hydrocarbon fluid comprises contacting the petroleum hydrocarbon fluid with a mixed phenol aldehyde derived from an aldehyde and two or more unsubstituted or alkyl-substituted monophenols, the two or more unsubstituted or alkyl-substituted monophenols comprising a first phenol which is a C.sub.1-20 linear or branched alkyl monophenol; and a second phenol which is unsubstituted or a C.sub.1-20 linear or branched alkyl monophenol different from the first phenol, wherein the molar ratio of the first phenol relative to the second phenol is about 4:1 to about 1:4.
Wax anti-settling additive composition for use in diesel fuels
A composition comprising at least one fuel that is a diesel fuel, a biodiesel fuel, or combinations thereof and less than 100 ppm, less than 50 ppm (or less than 25 ppm, less than 10 ppm, 1 to 7 ppm, or 5 to 7 ppm) of an alkylene-coupled C.sub.10 to C.sub.60 (or C.sub.10 to C.sub.40, C.sub.14 to C.sub.32 or C.sub.24 to C.sub.28) alkylphenol; 25 to 500 ppm (or 50 to 500 ppm, or 150 to 450 ppm or 250 to 450 ppm, or 250 to 400 ppm) of a terpolymer; and 5 to 90 ppm, (or 10 to 70 ppm, to 60 ppm, or 10 to 55 ppm) of hydrocarbyl-substituted amine detergent having at least one tertiary amino group. Methods of reducing the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) of a fuel, said method comprising adding the following components: less than 100 ppm, less than 50 ppm (or less than 25 ppm; less than 10 ppm, 1 to 7 ppm, or 5 to 7 ppm) of an alkylene-coupled C.sub.10 to C.sub.60 (or C.sub.10 to C.sub.40, C.sub.14 to C.sub.32 or C.sub.24 to C.sub.28) alkylphenol; 25 to 500 ppm (or 50 to 500 ppm, or 150 to 450 ppm or 250 to 450 ppm, or 250 to 400 ppm) of a terpolymer; and 5 to 90 ppm, (or 10 to 70 ppm, to 60 ppm, or 10 to 55 ppm) of hydrocarbyl-substituted amine detergent having at least one tertiary amino group. Uses of a fuel additive composition to reduce the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) of a fuel, wherein the fuel additive composition comprises: 0.2 to 3 wt % of an alkylene-coupled C.sub.10 to C.sub.60 (or C.sub.10 to C.sub.40, C.sub.14 to C.sub.32 or C.sub.24 to C.sub.28) alkylphenol; 10 to 50 wt % of a terpolymer; and 2 to 10 wt % of hydrocarbyl-substituted amine detergent having at least one tertiary amino group; and an optional solvent.
Additive compositions and to fuel oils
An additive composition comprises a polymer (A) and a condensation product (B) wherein Polymer (A) comprises the following monomer components: (i) one or more compounds of formula (I) (ii) one or more compounds of formula (II); and (iii) one or more compounds of formula (III); wherein condensation product (B) comprises the product formed by the reaction of an aliphatic aldehyde or ketone, or a reactive equivalent, with a substituted phenol or mixture of substituted phenols; The weight:weight ratio of the polymer (A) to the condensation product (B) is from 1:20 to 20:1.
