POLYACRYLATE ANTIFOAM COMPONENTS FOR USE IN FUELS
There is disclosed an antifoam component which includes at least one poly(acrylate) copolymer for use in a fuel. Poly(acrylate) polymers prepared by polymerizing a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C.sub.1 to C.sub.30 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“multifunctional monomer”) are also disclosed. Other poly(acrylate) polymers prepared by polymerizing (i) a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C.sub.1to C.sub.4 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“solubility monomer”); (ii) a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C.sub.5 to C.sub.12 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“surface tension monomer”); and (iii) optionally at least one additional monomer comprising a solubility monomer, a surface tension monomer, a monomer comprising C.sub.1 to C.sub.30 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“multifunctional monomer”), or combinations thereof are also disclosed.
REDUCTION OF POLLUTANT EMISSIONS OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
Method for reducing the pollutant emissions of internal combustion engines, wherein an aqueous solution containing glyoxal and a polymer product of citric acid and glycerol is added as an additive, additive for reducing the pollutant emissions of internal combustion engines, said additive consisting of an aqueous solution containing glyoxal and a polymer product of citric acid and glycerol, and the use thereof for reducing pollutant emissions.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FLOW IMPROVERS WITH IMPROVED FORMULATION STABILITY AT LOW TEMPERATURES
A method of treating petroleum fluids may include adding a flow improver composition to the petroleum fluids, the flow improver composition, comprising: a solvent; and a dendrimer-based flow improver, wherein at least a portion of the surface sites of the dendrimer are chemically modified with saturated and unsaturated fatty acids.
MACROMOLECULAR CORROSION (MCIN) INHIBITORS: STRUCTURES, METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Disclosed are multifunctional compounds represented by structural formula (I):
##STR00001##
methods of producing compounds represented by structural formula (I) and their use in inhibiting corrosion in corrodible material.
Additive formulation and method of using same
A fuel additive formulation, method of use, and method of producing the fuel additive formulation are described. The fuel additive of the present disclosure comprises a mixture of nitroparaffins comprising nitropropane and nitromethane, a lubricant, and an aromatic hydrocarbon. The fuel additive formulation is substantially free of nitroethane. The combustion in an internal combustion engine of a fuel containing the additive results in reduced emissions relative to the combustion of a fuel not containing the additive.
METHOD AND USE
A diesel fuel composition comprising as an additive an ester compound which is the reaction product of an optionally substituted polycarboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof and a polyhydric alcohol of formula H(OR).sub.nOH, wherein R is an optionally substituted alkylene group and n is at least 1.
Nanocarbon particle based fuel additive
A fuel additive composition has a base fuel; colloidal nanocarbon particles, and a dispersion stabilizer that aids in stably suspending the colloidal nanocarbon particles in the base fuel. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
