Disclosed are cloud point depressants and methods of making and using them. The disclosed cloud point depressants comprise copolymers of a maleic moiety polymerized with alpha olefins and then contacted with an aliphatic tertiary amine to provide a cloud depressant reaction product. When the disclosed reactions products are added to middle distillate fuels or blends of middle distillate fuels with biodiesel, the cloud point depressants inhibit the precipitation of waxes and/or biowaxes in the fuels and the fuels exhibit reduced precipitation, gelling, and/or crystallization when subjected to low or cold temperatures.

FUEL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING DETERGENTS DERIVED FROM ETHYLENE-ALPHA OLEFIN COPOLYMERS

A fuel composition including a fuel and a fuel additive including a fuel soluble detergent selected from succinimide compounds of the Formula (I), Mannich detergents of the formulae (IIa), and amine detergents of the formulae (IIIa) and (IIIb). The fuel soluble detergents are derived from a specific class of ethylene-alpha olefin copolymers having an Mn of less than 5,000 g/mol, an ethylene unit content of more than 40 mol % to less than 90 mol %; a terminal unsaturation of 70 mol % or greater; at least 70 mol % of the unsaturation is terminal vinylidene, one or more tri-substituted isomers of the terminal vinylidene or any combination thereof, an average ethylene run length of less than 2.6; and wherein n.sub.C2,Actual>n.sub.C2,Statistical. Methods employing the fuel compositions for operating diesel and gasoline engines to reduce injector valve deposits, valve sticking and injector nozzle fouling, and a method for stabilizing a diesel fuel composition.

The present invention relates to a nitrogen-containing diesel solidification point depressant composition, and preparation and application thereof. The nitrogen-containing diesel solidification point depressant composition includes the following components in percentage by weight: 10-40% of monoisopropanolamine; 10-40% of cyclohexane; 0-20% of polyethylene glycol; and 40-60% of N-tetradecyl methacrylamide-tetradecyl methacrylate. After the prepared diesel solidification point depressant composition is added to commercially available 0 #diesel, a solidification point and a cold filter plugging point of the diesel are respectively depressed by 21-25? C. and 9-13? C.

The invention also relates to a polymer composition obtainable by radical polymerisation of A) 95-40 wt. % of a monomer mixture comprising Ai) 65-98 wt. % of at least alkyl (meth)acrylate having a linear C.sub.16-C.sub.40 alkyl radical and Aii) 2-35 wt. % of at least one comonomer selected from (meth)acrylates and (meth)acrylamides, which supports an optionally substituted aromatic radical bonded via an alkylene, alkenylene, oxyalkylene or polyoxyalkylene group to the ester group of the (meth)acrylate or to the amide group of the (meth)acrylamide, in the presence of B) 5-60% by weight % of at least one ethylene copolymer. The invention further relates to a method for the preparation and use thereof as flow improvers for paraffin-containing hydrocarbon oils.
