Compliance control stitching in substrate materials
Compliance control stitch patterns sewn or embroidered into biotextile or medical textile substrates impart reinforcing strength, and stretch resistance and control into such substrates. Compliance control stitch patterns may be customizable to particular patients, substrate implantation sites, particular degenerative or diseased conditions, or desired time frames. Substrates having compliance control stitch patterns sewn or embroidered into them may be used in tissue repair or tissue reconstruction applications.
PERCUTANEOUS IMPLANTABLE NUCLEAR PROSTHESIS
An inter-vertebral disc prosthesis intended for percutaneous deployment comprises an expandable annular enclosure and an expandable nuclear enclosure. The expandable annular enclosure incorporates a reinforcing annular band along its periphery and is filled with in-situ curable rubber. The expandable nuclear enclosure is filled with a gas. The nuclear prosthesis further incorporates a novel, integrally molded sealing valve assembly and is stretchable and collapsible into a minimal profile for ease of insertion into a specially designed delivery cannula, and is inflation-assisted expandable into an inter-vertebral disc in which complete percutaneous nuclectomy has been performed.

STENTS FOR PLACEMENT IN AN ANATOMICAL PASSAGEWAY AND METHODS
Stents for placement in an anatomical passageway are described. Methods of stenting in an anatomical passageway are also described, for example in a liver between a portal vein and a hepatic vein as in a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt procedure. These are example embodiments and are not intended to be limiting.
CURVED FIBER ARRANGEMENT FOR PROSTHETIC HEART VALVES
A leaflet including fibers oriented at an angle relative to at least one free edge of the leaflet. A leaflet including mechanisms for increasing coaptation height, preventing billowing, and reducing stress in critical regions of the leaflet. A prosthetic heart valve, including three leaflets operatively attached together. A method of using a prosthetic heart valve, by applying pressure to the valve, forming a pocket with material of three leaflets operatively attached together and increasing coaptation height, reducing billowing of the leaflets toward a ventricle, and reducing stress in critical regions of the leaflet. A chorded valve including at least one leaflet, wherein bundles of fibers exit said free edges as tethers an can be anchored to tissue. A method of using the chorded valve, by anchoring the tethers to tissue, forming a pocket with the material of leaflets and increasing coaptation height, and reducing billowing of leaflets toward an atrium.
Method and apparatus for computerized surgery
An implant for use in spinal surgery comprises a resilient element having an inflatable cavity. It is formed of a biologically compatible material and is arranged for placement between end plates of adjacent vertebra. The implant may also include a wound disc replacement element. A method of performing spinal surgery on a patient comprises securely mounting a patient onto a patient support table; imaging a spinal region of the patient; building up a three-dimensional image file of the spinal region of the patient; storing the image file; and utilizing the image file for planning and carrying out computer controlled spinal surgery on the patient utilizing the implant. A computer-controlled surgical implant system comprises a steerable endosurgical implanting assembly operative to install the implant at a desired location in a patient; and a computerized controlled, which operates the steerable endosurgical implanting assembly.
BREAST RECONSTRUCTION IMPLANT
Absorbable implants can be used to create volume and shape in the breast of a patient with regenerated tissue. The implants comprise scaffolds formed from layers of parallel filaments. The layers of filaments can be stacked and bonded together to form scaffolds with porous crisscross arrangements of filaments. The implant's scaffolds may be coated or filled with cells and tissues, including autologous fat graft, and/or a vascular pedicle may be inserted into the implant. The implants are particularly suitable for use in plastic surgery procedures, for example, to regenerate or augment breast tissue following mastectomy or in mastopexy procedures, and can provide an alternative to the use of permanent breast implants in these procedures.
COVERED PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame with a plurality of strut members, the frame being radially collapsible to a collapsed configuration and radially expandable to an expanded configuration, the frame having an inflow end and an outflow end, and defining a longitudinal axis. A leaflet structure is coupled to the frame and configured to regulate blood flow through the frame. A fabric sealing member is disposed around the frame, the sealing member being resiliently stretchable between a first state corresponding to the radially expanded configuration of the frame and a second state corresponding to the radially collapsed configuration of the frame. The sealing member has two ends, and the two ends are secured together by a seam.
Elastically deformable and resorbable medical mesh implant
The invention relates to a polymeric mesh implant for use in reconstruction of tissue defects, which mesh implant comprises a first set of fibers arranged in a first pattern comprising apertures, wherein each aperture, or a subset thereof, comprises an elastic fiber arranged in a first direction of the mesh implant such that when the mesh implant is stretched in this first direction, the elastic fibers are elongated and also exert a restoring force on the first pattern.
