UNCAGING STENT
A stent (scaffold) or other luminal prosthesis comprising circumferential structural elements which provide high strength after deployment and allows for scaffold to uncage, and/or allow for scaffold or luminal expansion thereafter. The circumferential scaffold is typically formed from non-degradable material and will be modified to expand and/or uncage after deployment.
ENDOVASCULAR GRAFT
An endovascular graft, which is configured to conform to the morphology of a vessel to be treated, includes a tubular ePTFE structure; an inflatable ePTFE structure disposed over at least a portion of the ePTFE tubular structure; and an injection port in fluid communication with the inflatable ePTFE structure for inflation of the inflatable ePTFE structure with an inflation medium. The inflatable ePTFE structure may be longitudinally disposed over the tubular ePTFE structure. The ePTFE structure may be a bifurcated structure having first and second bifurcated tubular structures, where the inflatable ePTFE structure is disposed over at least a portion of the first and second bifurcated tubular structures.
GRAFT WITH EXPANDABLE REGION AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A vascular graft suitable for implantation, and more particular to a vascular graft having an expandable outflow region for restoring patency of the graft after implantation into a body lumen.
HEART VALVE PROSTHESIS
Heart valve prosthesis are disclosed that include a frame or support structure having an inflow portion, a valve-retaining tubular or central portion and a pair of support arms. The inflow portion radially extends from a first end of the valve-retaining tubular portion and the pair of support arms are circumferentially spaced apart and radially extend from an opposing second end of the valve-retaining tubular portion.
Medical device delivery system and deployment method
An aortic stent-graft may include a tubular graft extending from a proximal end to a distal end, the graft comprising a proximal sealing portion and an intermediate portion, wherein a proximal end of the intermediate portion abuts the distal end of the proximal sealing portion. At least one sealing stent may be attached to the proximal sealing portion. A first fenestration window is disposed in the intermediate portion. The first fenestration window has a length determined by the equation L=1.23*D−24 millimeters, where L is the length of the first fenestration window. D is between about 24 millimeters and 45 millimeters.
UNCAGING STENT
A stent (scaffold) or other luminal prosthesis comprising circumferential structural elements which provides high strength after deployment and allows for scaffold to uncage, and/or allow for scaffold or luminal expansion thereafter. The circumferential scaffold may be formed from degradable material, or may be formed from non-degradable material and will be modified to expand and/or uncage after deployment.
System and method for manufacturing a stent
The invention provides a system (1) and method for manufacturing a stent. A spraying device (14) sprays a polymeric suspension (16) onto a mandrel (4). During spraying of the polymeric suspension (16) onto the mandrel (4), the mandrel (4) is manipulated by a micromanipulator (8) to produce a continuous coating on the mandrel (4) having a nonuniform thickness. The polymeric coating is allowed to cure on the mandrel (4) to form the stent, which is then removed from the mandrel (4). The method can comprise embedding a filament (2) in the polymeric coating and incorporating one or more drugs in the stent.
SURGICAL HEART VALVES ADAPTED FOR POST-IMPLANT EXPANSION
A prosthetic heart valve configured to replace a native heart valve and having a support frame configured to be reshaped into an expanded form in order to receive and/or support an expandable prosthetic heart valve therein is disclosed, together with methods of using same. The prosthetic heart valve may be configured to have a generally rigid and/or expansion-resistant configuration when initially implanted to replace a native valve (or other prosthetic heart valve), but to assume a generally expanded form when subjected to an outward force such as that provided by a dilation balloon or other mechanical expander.
STENT
A stent includes a strut formed into a cylindrical shape and extending in an axial direction. The strut includes outer peripheral portions extending around the axial and circumferential directions of the cylindrical shape. The outer peripheral portions are spaced apart from one another with gaps formed between adjacent outer peripheral portions. The strut includes a connection portion connecting the outer peripheral portions to each other in one of the gaps formed by the adjacent outer peripheral portions. The outer peripheral portions and the connection portion of the strut are integrally formed of a biodegradable polymer A portion of the strut includes a fragile portion which is snore fragile than other portions of the strut.
Annuloplasty Implant
An annuloplasty implant comprising an inner core of a shape memory material, an outer covering arranged radially outside said inner core material to cover at least part of said inner core, wherein said outer covering is resilient to conform to said inner core during movement of said shape memory material, wherein said outer covering comprises a material having surface properties to promote endothelialization. Two portions of the implant may be joined by a recess to be flexible with respect to each other by a bending motion at the recess. The two portions may also have a predefined breaking point at the recess.
