Hydrocarbon blown polyurethane foam formulation giving desirable thermal insulation properties
Polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam insulation described herein is derived from a composition that contains an organic polyisocyanate, an isocyanate reactive material containing at least about 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of an aromatic polyester polyol, a hydrocarbon blowing agent, a first catalyst selected from the group consisting of a carboxylate salt of an alkali metal, a carboxylate salt of an alkaline earth metal, a carboxylate salt of a quaternary ammonium, and combinations thereof, and a second catalyst comprising a non-reactive tertiary amine, wherein a molar ratio of the first catalyst to the second catalyst is less than about 1.25, the composition gels quickly, and the composition has an isocyanate index greater than about 175. Such an insulating foam has a ratio of thermal conductivity at 75° F. to thermal conductivity at 25° F. between about 0.98 and about 1.10.
Polyester polyol, thermoplastic polyurethane and article thereof
The present invention provides a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) having a glass transition temperature between an ambient temperature and normal body temperature, wherein the TPU contains dicarboxyphenyl polyester structure represented by Formula 1 or 10-(2,3-dicarboxypropyl)-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide n(DOPO-ITA) polyester structure represented by Formula 2. The present invention also provides a polyester polyol containing DOPO-ITA polyester structure represented by Formula 2, a molar percentage of the 10-(2,3-dicarboxypropyl)-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-oxide polyester structure in the whole polyester polyol ranges from 30% to 70%. COMPATIBILIZED BLENDS OF TEREPHALATE ESTER POLYOLS AND HYDROCARBON BLOWING AGENTS
Formulated polyol compositions contain a terephthalic acid-based polyester polyol, a C4-7 hydrocarbon blowing agent, and a nonionic surfactant that has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of greater than 13 to 18.5. The formulated polyol compositions exhibit surprisingly good storage stability and resist stratifying into layers. The compositions are useful to make rigid polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate foams. The good compatibility of the blowing agent leads to improved cell structure in the foams.
LAMINATED POLYESTER FILM
The invention provides a laminated polyester film that is highly transparent, is resistant to blocking, and has excellent adhesion to a hardcoat layer and UV ink. The laminated polyester film contains a polyester film substrate and a coating layer on at least one surface of the polyester film substrate, wherein the coating layer is formed by curing a composition containing a urethane resin with a polycarbonate structure and a branched structure, a crosslinking agent, and a polyester resin.

This disclosure generally provides compositions with improved flammability resistance and processes for preparing these compositions, wherein the resin composition comprising: (a) a polyfunctional isocyanate; (b) an isocyanate reactive composition comprising (b1) a polyfunctional polyol and a catalyst composition; and/or (b2) a polyfunctional amine; and (c) a benzoxazine component solved in the resin composition.

The present invention aims to provide a polyol composition capable of producing a flexible polyurethane foam having excellent low resilience at room temperature and good breathability. The present invention provides a polyol composition (C) for producing flexible polyurethane foam, containing a polyester polyol (A) and a polyether polyol (B), wherein the followings (1) to (4) are satisfied: (1) the polyol composition (C) has an ester group concentration of 0.4 to 4.0 mmol/g based on the weight of the polyol composition (C); (2) the polyol composition (C) has an oxyethylene group unit content of 15 to 40 wt % based on the weight of the polyol composition (C); (3) the polyester polyol (A) includes a polyester polyol (A1) having two to four hydroxy groups in one molecule obtained by polymerization of a raw material containing a compound (a) having multiple hydroxyl groups and a polycarboxylic acid or acid anhydride of the polycarboxylic acid; and (4) the polyether polyol (B) includes an oxyethylene group-containing polyether polyol (B1).

A process for producing rigid PUR/PIR foams comprising A1 an isocyanate-reactive component, A2 a flame retardant, A3 a blowing agent, A4 a catalyst, A5 optionally auxiliaries and additives, and B an organic polyisocyanate component. Component A1 comprises a triurethane triol A1.1 and a compound A1.2 selected from the group consisting of polyether polyol, polyester polyol, polyether carbonate polyol, and polyether ester polyol. The liquid composition for a fiber reinforced plastic intermediate base material according to the present invention is characterized by being obtained by mixing (A) and (B). (A): a composition including a compound (a) having at least two isocyanate groups, and (B): a composition which includes (b1) as an essential component and may include (b2) and (b3).
