Articles are provided including at least one polyurethane prepared from: (a) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; (b) about 0.005 to about 0.35 equivalent of at least one polycaprolactone polyol; (c) about 0.01 to about 1.0 equivalent of at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol, 1,2-ethanediol, propanediol, butanediol, pentanediol, hexanediol, heptanediol, octanediol, nonanediol, decanediol, dodecane diol, octadecanediol, cyclopentanediol, 1,4-cyclohexanediol, cyclohexanedimethanol, 1,4-benzenedimethanol, xylene glycol, hydroxybenzyl alcohol, dihydroxytoluene, bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate, 1,4-bis(hydroxyethyl)piperazine, N,N′,bis(2-hydroxyethyl)oxamide and mixtures thereof; and (d) about 0.01 to about 0.5 equivalent of at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerol, tetramethylolmethane, trimethylolethane, trimethylolpropane, erythritol, pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, tripentaerythritol, sorbitan, and mixtures thereof, each based upon the about 1 equivalent of the at least one polyisocyanate, wherein the article has a Gardner Impact strength of at least about 400 in-lb according to ASTM D-5420-04.

Thermoplastic compositions, methods, apparatus, and uses

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compositions, methods for producing TPU compositions, methods of using TPU compositions, and apparatuses produced therefrom are disclosed. Disclosed TPU compositions include a thermoplastic polyurethane polymer, a heat stabilizer, a flow agent, and a filler material. The filler may be a glass fiber. Disclosed TPU compositions have improved thermal stability and improved flow properties suitable for injection molding of articles of manufacture having a large plurality of fine openings or pores. Articles produced from the composition have superior thermal stability, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. Example articles include screening members for vibratory screening machines. Further embodiments include compositions without heat stabilizers, flow agents, and filler materials, and compositions in which two TPU materials having different harnesses are combined to generate a material with a pre-determined hardness. Injection molded screen elements having openings from 25 to 150 microns and open screening area from 10% to 35% are disclosed.

Curable Photochromic Polycarbodiimide Compositions

The present invention relates to curable photochromic compositions which include a polycarbodiimide, an at least di-functional first carboxylic acid functional material having at least two carboxylic acid groups, an optional second carboxylic acid functional material having at least three carboxylic acid groups, a photochromic compound, and an aprotic organic solvent. The curable photochromic compositions have an equivalents ratio of carbodiimide equivalents of the polycarbodiimide to a total carboxylic acid equivalents of the first and optional second carboxylic acid functional materials of from 0.5:1 to 10:1 when the second carboxylic acid functional material is not present; and from 0.5:1 to 3:1 when the second carboxylic acid functional material is present. The present invention, more particularly, relates to curable photochromic coating compositions, and curable photochromic adhesive compositions.

The present invention provides a polyisocyanate composition comprising at least one isocyanate compound selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic isocyanate and an alicyclic isocyanate as a skeleton, wherein an average value of a total number of isocyanate groups blocked with a blocking agent and not blocked with a blocking agent per polyisocyanate molecule is 2 or more, and among the isocyanate groups in the polyisocyanate composition, 1 mol % or more and 99 mol % or less are blocked with a blocking agent, and the like.

Provided is a composition capable of forming a cured product excelling in adhesion to a substrate, hardness, scratch resistance, and chemical resistance. The composition of the present disclosure contains a polyol compound (A) and an isocyanate compound (B) The polyol compound (A) includes a compound (a1) represented by Formula (1) below, where R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 each are a group represented by Formula (1a), the compound (a1) having a number average molecular weight (calibrated with polystyrene standard) of 800 or greater. The isocyanate compound (B) includes a polyisocyanate compound having an isocyanurate skeleton.

A nonlimiting example method of forming highly spherical carbon nanomaterial-graft-polyurethane (CNM-g-polyurethane) particles may comprising: mixing a mixture comprising: (a) carbon nanomaterial-graft-polyurethane (CNM-g-polyurethane), wherein the CNM-g-polyurethane particles comprises: a polyurethane grafted to a carbon nanomaterial, (b) a carrier fluid that is immiscible with the polyurethane of the CNM-g-polyurethane, optionally (c) a thermoplastic polymer not grafted to a CNM, and optionally (d) an emulsion stabilizer at a temperature greater than a melting point or softening temperature of the polyurethane of the CNM-g-polyurethane and the thermoplastic polymer, when included, and at a shear rate sufficiently high to disperse the CNM-g-polyurethane in the carrier fluid; cooling the mixture to below the melting point or softening temperature to form CNM-g-polyurethane particles; and separating the CNM-g-polyurethane particles from the carrier fluid.

The present disclosure provides a resin composition for a golf ball cover. The resin composition includes a thermoplastic polyurethane resin including 55 to 70 parts by weight of a polyol, 30 to 40 parts by weight of an isocyanate, and 0.2 to 0.4 parts by weight of a polysiloxane. The polysiloxane includes at least one hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group in the terminal alkyl group. The polyol and the isocyanate constitute a silicone-free thermoplastic polyurethane resin, and the polysiloxane and the isocyanate constitute a thermoplastic polyurethane resin that includes silicone in the main chain, thereby improving the scuff resistance and slip property required for a golf ball cover.
