Curable Compositions and Articles Prepared Therefrom
The invention relates to a curable composition including (a) a component having one or more carbonyl group-containing compounds having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of at least 500 g/mole, wherein each carbonyl group is independently a ketone group or an aldehyde group; (b) a polyamine compound having at least two primary amine groups per molecule; and (c) a polyisocyanate compound. Articles coated with the curable composition are also provided.

Provided are polymer compositions made by a process comprising: (a) providing a first reactive composition containing: (i) a polymerization initiator that is capable, upon a first activation, of forming two or more free radical groups, at least one of which is further activatable by subsequent activation; (ii) one or more ethylenically unsaturated compounds; and (iii) a crosslinker; (b) subjecting the first reactive composition to a first activation step such that the first reactive composition polymerizes therein to form a crosslinked substrate network containing a covalently bound activatable free radical initiator; (c) contacting the crosslinked substrate network with a grafting composition containing one or more ethylenically unsaturated compounds, wherein the contacting is conducted under conditions such that the grafting composition penetrates into the crosslinked substrate network; and (d) activating the covalently bound activatable free radical initiator at one or more selective regions of the crosslinked substrate network such that the grafting composition polymerizes with the crosslinked substrate network at the selective regions.

A coating composition includes a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component. The polyisocyanate component includes an aromatic ring-containing isocyanate. The polyol component includes an acrylic polyol. The acrylic polyol is a polymer of a monomer composition containing a hydroxyl group-containing polymerizable monomer and a carboxyl group-containing polymerizable monomer and containing no (meth)acrylonitrile.

A gas barrier layer-forming composition contains a solid content containing a polyurethane resin, a water-soluble polymer and a curing agent. The polyurethane resin contains a reaction product of an acid group-containing polyurethane resin having an acid group and a polyamine compound having an amino group. The polyurethane resin content, the water-soluble polymer content, and an inorganic layered mineral content in the solid content are 45 mass % or more and 75 mass % or less, 20 mass % or more and 35 mass % or less, and less than 2 mass %, respectively.

A water-dispersible polyisocyanate contains an isocyanate group and a sulfone group. The water-dispersible polyisocyanate contains a reaction product of a polyisocyanate component and a hydrophilic active hydrogen component. The polyisocyanate component contains a bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane derivative. The hydrophilic active hydrogen component contains a sulfone group-containing active hydrogen compound. The bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane derivative contains an allophanate derivative and an isocyanurate derivative. The allophanate derivative is contained in an amount of 25% by mass or more and 75% by mass or less relative to the total amount of the allophanate derivative and the isocyanurate derivative.

Bioactive coatings that include a base and a protein associated with the base for actively promoting the removal of organic stains are provided. In aspects, bioactive coatings that are stabilized against inactivation by weathering are provided including a base associated with a chemically modified enzyme, and, optionally a first polyoxyethylene present in the base and independent of the enzyme. The coatings are optionally overlayered onto a substrate to form an active coating facilitating the removal of organic stains or organic material from food, insects, or the environment.
Curable coating compositions containing poly activated methylene resins and polyisocyanates
A curable coating composition includes: (a) a polymer including at least two active methylene functional groups; (b) a polyisocyanate crosslinker; and (c) a transition metal catalyst. Substrates at least partially coated with these coating compositions are further disclosed. Methods for preparing the coating are further disclosed. Multi-layer coatings including these coating compositions are further disclosed.

Provided are a pressure-sensitive adhesive for a nonaqueous battery, which is excellent in adhesive property in a nonaqueous electrolytic solution, is reduced in stickiness, and can be prevented from protruding from an end surface of a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape when applied to the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape including the pressure-sensitive adhesive. The pressure-sensitive adhesive for a nonaqueous battery of the present invention is a pressure-sensitive adhesive configured to express an adhesive property by being pressure-bonded, including: an acrylic polymer having an acid functional group; and a crystalline resin having a melting point of 25° C. or more. In one embodiment, the pressure-sensitive adhesive for a nonaqueous battery is configured to express the adhesive property by being warmed.
