The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of acrylic based polymer particles; less than 15 PVC of a pigment; and a hydrophobically modified poly(oxyalkylene-urethane) rheology modifier having a hydrophobic portion represented by Structure I: ##STR00001## Where R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, m an n are defined herein. The composition provides viscosity stability for paint formulations containing a HEUR rheology modifier.

In an example, an inkjet ink can comprise: at least one colorant; at least one solvent comprising glycerol in an amount of from about 1 wt % to about 20 wt % based on the total weight of the inkjet ink; water; and at least one binder, wherein the binder comprises a polyurethane-based binder dispersion.

INKJET INKS

Yellow inkjet inks are disclosed. In an example, an inkjet ink composition comprises: at least one colorant comprising at least one yellow pigment; at least one solvent comprising at least one triol; water; and at least one binder. The binder comprises a polyurethane-based binder dispersion, which comprises water and a polyurethane. The polyurethane comprises: (A) a polyisocyanate, (B) a first polyol having a chain with two hydroxyl functional groups at one end of the chain and no hydroxyl groups at an opposed end of the chain, (C) a second polyol having a chain with two hydroxyl functional groups at both ends of the chain, (D) a carboxylic acid functional group with two hydroxyl functional groups, and (E) a sulfonate or sulfonic acid functional group having two amino functional groups.

AN AQUEOUS BINDER SYSTEM, A COATING COMPOSITION AND A COATING

The present invention provides an aqueous binder system for a coating composition, the aqueous binder system comprising A) at least 10 wt % water, based on the total weight of the aqueous binder system; B) at least one hydroxyl-functional binder polymer; and C) from 0.1 to 20 wt %, based on the total weight of the aqueous binder system, of at least one quaternary ammonium compound, wherein the quaternary ammonium compound comprises a core quaternary ammonium group which has pendant groups which comprise i) a hydrocarbyl group having 8 to 16 carbon atoms which is a linear or branched, alkyl or alkenyl group; ii) two independent hydroxyl terminated groups, wherein each hydroxyl terminated group comprises from 1 to 10 alkylene oxide residues and wherein the total number of alkylene oxide residues in the quaternary ammonium compound is from 5 to 12; and iii) a CI to C8 hydrocarbyl group; wherein B) and C) are not covalently bonded to each other within the aqueous binder system. A coating composition, a coating, methods and uses are also provided.

POLYMER-MODIFIED POLYOL DISPERSION

The invention relates to a method of making a polymer-modified polyol having a solid content from 13 to 55 wt. % wherein an olamine is reacted with an organic polyisocyanate in the presence of a base polyol and at least one catalyst, wherein said at least one catalyst is a zinc carboxylate, and wherein the base polyol has hydroxyl functions wherein more than 20% of said hydroxyl functions are primary hydroxyl functions. The invention further relates to a polymer-modified polyol obtainable with the method of the invention, the use of the polymer-modified polyol for the preparation of optionally foamed plastics, and to a method for the preparation of optionally foamed plastics using the polymer-modified polyol of the invention.
