Toughened cyanoacrylate compositions
Curable cyanoacrylate compositions are reported that comprise cyanoacrylate and a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) components. Such compositions are toughened cyanoacrylate compositions exhibiting long term viscosity stability when stored for prolonged periods at room temperature (25° C.). TPU components are reported having structural units in which at least one of the structural units has the formula —O—R.sup.1—O—Ar—O—R.sup.2—O—, wherein Ar is a C.sub.6-C.sub.20 aromatic group with at least one aromatic ring; R.sup.1 is a C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkyl group; and R.sup.2 is a C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkyl group. The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) component may be present in the curable cyanoacrylate composition from about 1 wt % to about 40 wt %, for example from about 2 wt % to about 30 wt %, such from about 3 wt % to about 20 wt %, suitably from about 5 wt % to about 10 wt %, based on the total weight of the composition.
Low-damping polyurethane elastomer
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a polyurethane elastomer, said method comprising the step of reacting at least one isocyanate composition (ZI) and one polyol composition (ZP) comprising a poly-ε-caprolactone polyol and an α-hydro-ω-hydroxy-poly(oxytetramethylene) polyol to obtain an isocyanate-functional prepolymer and the step of reacting the prepolymer obtained as per step (i) with at least one chain extender (KV). The present invention further relates to a polyurethane elastomer obtained or obtainable according to a method of the invention and also to the method of using a polyurethane elastomer according to the invention or a polyurethane elastomer obtained or obtainable according to a method of the invention in the manufacture of a shaped article, especially a damping element, a shock absorber or a stop buffer or part of a shoe or of a shoe sole, for example part of an insert sole or of a midsole.
Water-based polyurethane dispersions and their preparation
A prepolymer comprising acid functionality is made by a process comprising the step of contacting: (i) a di-isocyanate, (ii) a polyol containing an acid group, (iii) a polyol without an acid group, and (iv) a metal salt catalyst, the contacting conducted under reaction conditions and in a solvent consisting essentially of: (A) a dialkyl amide, and (B) optionally, an aprotic glycol ether. The prepolymer is useful in the preparation of water-based polyurethane dispersions, and certain of the solvent blends consisting essentially of a dialkyl amide and an optional aprotic glycol ether are azeotropic or pseudo-azeotropic.

POLYMER FILM, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME, AND FLEXIBLE FOLDING PANEL
The present disclosure provides a polymer film, a method of preparing the same, and a flexible folded panel. The polymer film includes a substrate and a strengthening layer, wherein the strengthening layer includes a polymer, side chains of the polymer include a plurality of rigid segments and a plurality of flexible segments, which modify and strengthen the side chains of the polymer. The monomer of the polymer is subjected to a series of reactions, to synthesize the polymer, and the polymer film enhance hardness of a cover plate of a panel and improve the anti-friction properties and bendability.
METHOD FOR EXTRACTING DIISOCYANATES FROM DISTILLATION RESIDUES
The invention relates to a method for extracting diisocyanates that are solid at room temperature from a distillation residue, comprising the following steps: (i) providing at least one residue containing diisocyanates that are solid at room temperature, and (ii) treating the residue at a temperature of ≥120° C. to <200° C. so as to obtain diisocyanates that are solid at room temperature, the residue provided in step (i) containing ≥32 to ≤60 wt. % of bitumen and the treatment in step (ii) being carried out in at least one thin-film evaporator and/or falling-film evaporator.
METHOD FOR RECOVERING DIISOCYANATES FROM DISTILLATION RESIDUES
The invention relates to a method for recovering a diisocyanate which is solid at room temperature from a distillation residue from a process for producing the diisocyanate, comprising the following steps: (i) mixing the distillation residue with a bitumen such that a mixture is obtained which contains 70 to 90 wt % of the distillation residue and 10 to 30 wt % of the bitumen, each in relation to the mixture, (ii) distilling the mixture in a thin-film evaporator or a falling film evaporator to obtain a sump discharge and a gaseous product stream, (iii) condensing the gaseous product stream and obtaining a solid containing the diisocyanate which is solid at room temperature. The invention further relates to the use of a thin-film evaporator or falling film evaporator, to a composition containing the diisocyanate which is solid at room temperature, and to a method for producing an elastomer from this composition and to the elastomer itself.
One-part moisture-curable polyurethane composition
The present technology provides a one-part moisture-curable polyurethane composition excellent in long-term adhesion against weather resistance and vibration. According to the embodiment of the present technology, a one-part moisture-curable polyurethane composition includes: a urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group; a morpholine compound having one morpholine ring; and an ether compound having two dimethylamino groups.
