Polycarbodiimide copolymer
To provide a polycarbodiimide copolymer and a modified polycarbodiimide copolymer each suitable for a curing agent that can allow a cured product of a carboxy group-containing resin composition to be improved in flexibility without any loss of water resistance, as well as a curing agent of a carboxy group-containing resin composition, and a carboxy group-containing resin composition. The present invention enables a cured product to be enhanced in water resistance due to introduction of a predetermined soft segment into a polycarbodiimide molecule, in use for a curing agent, and also enables a carboxy group-containing resin composition to be enhanced in storage stability due to modification with an aliphatic amine or an aromatic heterocyclic amine.

POLYURETHANE POLYOL AND PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The method of the polyurethane polyol comprises (1) dissolving 2,3-epoxybutane and an acid catalyst in an inert solvent to obtain a solution A; dissolving triethylene glycol in an inert solvent to obtain a solution B; and dissolving epoxy vegetable oil in an inert solvent to obtain a solution C; (2) respectively and simultaneously pumping the solutions A and B into a first micromixer for mixing; (3) pumping the solution C and an effluent of the first microreactor into a second micromixer for mixing while carrying out step (2); and (4) dissolving the vegetable oil polyol in an inert solvent to obtain a solution D; dissolving epoxypropane and an alkaline catalyst in an inert solvent to obtain a solution E; and pumping the solution D and the solution E into a tank reactor for reaction, thereby obtaining the polyurethane polyol.
THIOURETHANE BASED AEROGELS
The present invention relates to a thiourethane based aerogels obtained by reacting an isocyanate compound having a functionality equal to or greater than 2 and a thiol compound having a functionality equal to or greater than 2 in the presence of a solvent. Aerogels according to the present invention are generally hydrophobic, high performance materials. Aerogels according to the present invention are light weight they have low thermal conductivity, low shrinkage and high mechanical properties.
Toughened Cyanoacrylate Compositions
Curable cyanoacrylate compositions are reported that comprise cyanoacrylate and a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) components. Such compositions are toughened cyanoacrylate compositions exhibiting long term viscosity stability when stored for prolonged periods at room temperature (25 C.). TPU components are reported having structural units in which at least one of the structural units has the formula OR.sup.1OArOR.sup.2O, wherein Ar is a C.sub.6-C.sub.20 aromatic group with at least one aromatic ring; R.sup.1 is a C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkyl group; and R.sup.2 is a C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkyl group. The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) component may be present in the curable cyanoacrylate composition from about 1 wt % to about 40 wt %, for example from about 2 wt % to about 30 wt %, such from about 3 wt % to about 20 wt %, suitably from about 5 wt % to about 10 wt %, based on the total weight of the composition.
Low melting and low viscosity thermoset matrix resins from the Z configuration of polyhydroxy stilbenes
The invention generally relates to novel poly-substituted cis stilbenes, their synthesis, their purification, and their use in thermoset resins. These novel cis stilbenes give rise to thermoset resins with greatly improved processing characteristics such as lower melting temperature and lower viscosity; resulting in polymers and composites having greatly improved thermal stability.
