Coating composition for wind turbine blades
The present application discloses a wind turbine blade having on the outer surface thereof a polyurethane-based coating including a polyurethane binder prepared from polyol(s) having an average functionality of ≧2.0 and <8.0; at least 50% (w/w) of the polyols have aliphatic polyester segments included therein and have a Mw of 300-3,000 g/mol; and polyisocyanate(s) having an average functionality of <3.0; at least 50% (w/w) of the polyisocyanate(s) are selected from: (i) polyisocyanates having aliphatic polyester segments included therein, and having a molecular weight of 500-3,000 g/mol and a functionality of ≧2.0 and <3.0; (ii) polyisocyanates of the allophanate type having a Mw of 250-2,000 g/mol and a functionality of ≧2.0 and <3.0; and (iii) polyisocyanates of the uretdion type having a Mw of 250-2,000 g/mol and a functionality of ≧2.0 and <3.0. The application also discloses corresponding coating compositions and a method for coating a substrate.
POLYISOCYANATE COMPOSITION, COATING COMPOSITION, COATING FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND HUMIDITY STABILIZATION METHOD
The present invention provides a polyisocyanate composition wherein the composition is obtained from an aliphatic diisocyanate unit including 1,6-diisocyanatohexane, and has an isocyanurate group, a uretdione group, a uretonimine group, and an iminooxadiazinedione group, and the molar ratio of the uretonimine group to the isocyanurate group is 0.0010 to 0.0050, and the molar ratio of the iminooxadiazinedione group to the isocyanurate group is 0.00050 to 0.30.
LEADING EDGE PROTECTION COMPOSITION AND USES THEREO
A polyurethane elastomer composition includes a polycarbonate diol and an aliphatic isocyanate, and lacking any solvent. The composition is used for leading edge protection (LEP), preferably of wind turbine rotor blades.
Polymeric Material Including a Uretdione-Containing Material, an Epoxy Component, and an Accelerator, Two-Part Compositions, and Methods
The present disclosure provides a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components and has a solids content of 90% or greater. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group; an epoxy component; and an accelerator. The first hydroxyl-containing compound has more than one OH group and the optional second hydroxyl-containing compound is a primary alcohol or a secondary alcohol. The present disclosure also provides a two-part composition, in which a polymeric material is included in the first part and the second part includes at least one thiol-containing compound. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymeric material and a method of making a two-part composition. Advantageously, two-part compositions according to the present disclosure can be used as coatings and adhesive systems with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.

Modeling material formulations usable for forming a polyurea material in additive manufacturing, and methods for additive manufacturing of three-dimensional objects made of these formulations are provided. The modeling material formulation comprises at least one isocyanate-containing material and at least one amine-containing material such that at least one isocyanate-containing material comprises at least one polyisocyanate material and at least one amine-containing material comprises at least one aromatic polyamine material.
TWO-PACK TYPE COATING COMPOSITION
Provided is a coating composition that can be suitably used even in a coating method different from conventional spray coating. A two-pack coating composition comprising a main resin comprising a hydroxyl group-containing component and a curing catalyst (C), and a hardener comprising an isocyanate compound (B), wherein the hydroxyl group-containing component comprises a polyol (A), the polyol (A) has a hydroxyl value of 200 mg KOH/g or more and 1900 mg KOH/g or less, a content of the curing catalyst (C) is in a range of from 0.05 parts by mass to 3 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the hydroxyl group-containing component, and an amount of an organic solvent contained in the two-pack coating composition is 5 parts by mass or less based on 100 parts by mass of the two-pack coating composition.

The present invention provides a blocked polyisocyanate composition comprising a blocked polyisocyanate formed through blocking at least a part of isocyanate groups possessed by a polyisocyanate derived from one or two or more diisocyanates selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic diisocyanate and an alicyclic diisocyanate with an active methylene-based compound comprising a malonic acid diester, wherein a specific molar ratio calculated from contents (mol %) of isocyanurate groups, iminooxadiazinedione groups, uretdione groups, and allophanate groups is 0.05 or more and 0.60 or less.
Compositions containing hydrophobic modified isocyanate functional prepolymer containing adhesives
Disclosed are curable compositions containing isocyanate functional prepolymer containing two part adhesives wherein the prepolymers contain in their backbones hydrophobic segments and the curative part comprises one or more oligomeric or polymeric compounds having more than one isocyanate reactive groups; and one or more low molecular weight compounds having more than one isocyanate reactive groups wherein the low molecular weight compounds and the amount of such low molecular weight compounds are selected to such that the composition after full cure exhibits a ratio of modulus (e.g., Young's modulus or shear storage modulus) measured at −35° C. to the modulus measured at 23° C. of less than 10. The cured compositions exhibit higher stiffness across the common use temperature range and improved hydrolytic stability especially when exposed to elevated temperatures. Also disclosed are methods of bonding substrates together utilizing such compositions.
