POLYCARBODIIMIDE COMPOUND, AND POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION AND POLYESTER RESIN MODIFIER IN WHICH SAME IS USED
Provided are a polycarbodiimide compound and a polyester resin composition and polyester resin modifier using the polycarbodiimide compound, the polycarbodiimide compound having a small amount of residual amine and having good processability when the polycarbodiimide compound is added to the polyester resin while keeping hydrolysis resistance of polyester resin imparted thereto through addition of the polycarbodiimide compound. A polycarbodiimide compound represented by the following general formula (1): R.sub.mNH.sub.2-m—CO—NH—Z—(N═C═N—Z).sub.n—NH—CO—NH.sub.2-mR.sub.m (1) is used, wherein R.sub.m is a hydrocarbon residue of an amine compound which is represented by R.sub.mNH.sub.3-m and has a boiling point at 1 atm of 150° C. or lower; m is 1 or 2; Z is a residue obtained by removing two isocyanate groups from an aliphatic diisocyanate compound; and n is any integer of 2 to 7.
TWO-COMPONENT (2K) CLEARCOAT AND METHOD TO COAT A SUBSTRATE WITH THE TWO-COMPONENT (2K) CLEARCOAT HAVING ENHANCED VISUAL APPEARANCE
Provided herein is a two-component clearcoat composition that contains a first component comprising a hydroxyl-functional resin; and a second component comprising a crosslinking agent which is a first isocyanate resin which is unblocked; wherein at least one of the first component and the second component further comprises a blocked isocyanate resin which is a reacted form of a second isocyanate resin and a blocking agent; and wherein the first isocyanate resin and the second isocyanate resin are capable of reacting with the hydroxyl-functional resin to form a crosslinked coating. Further provided herein is a substrate coated with the clearcoat composition that exhibits improved visual appearance to the coated substrate, such as reduced orange peel and an increased balance value.
ADHESIVE AGENT SET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STRUCTURAL BODY
Disclosed is an adhesive agent set composed of a main agent and a hardening agent, in which the main agent contains a urethane prepolymer having isocyanate groups as terminal groups; and an oligomer of hexamethylene diisocyanate having an isocyanate group modified with a silane coupling agent having a mercapto group or an amino group, the oligomer also having at least two unmodified isocyanate groups, and the hardening agent contains a polyol.
LATENT REACTIVE ADHESIVE PREPARATIONS
The invention relates to the use of solid polycarbodiimide resins having a softening temperature of >+30° C. as cross-linking agents for adhesive dispersions polymers. The mixtures from at least one solid polycarbodiimide resin and at least one polymer dispersion are suitable for producing storage stable latent-reactive adhesive dispersions, latent-reactive adhesive layers, self-supporting latent reactive adhesive films or latent-reactive adhesive powders.
AQUEOUS RESIN CROSSLINKING AGENT, AQUEOUS RESIN CROSSLINKING AGENT-CONTAINING LIQUID, AND AQUEOUS RESIN COMPOSITION
Provided are a carbodiimide-based, waterborne resin crosslinking agent that not only is excellent in the storage stability when the crosslinking agent and a waterborne resin are caused to coexist, but also can improve physical properties such as solvent resistance and water resistance of a cured product of the waterborne resin, and a waterborne resin crosslinking agent-containing liquid and a waterborne resin composition comprising the same. The waterborne resin crosslinking agent of the present invention comprises a predetermined polycarbodiimide compound (A) having an oxyalkylene group, a predetermined polycarbodiimide compound (B), and a surfactant (C), each polycarbodiimide compound has a structure in which an isocyanate group is capped with a predetermined end-capping compound at each of both terminals, a total content of the oxyalkylene group in (A) is 15% by mass or more, a total content of the oxyalkylene group in (A) and (B) based on a total amount of (A) and (B) is 10% by mass or less, and a content of (C) is 0.1 to 20 parts by mass based on a total content of (A) and (B) of 100 parts by mass.

The present invention provides a coating film having a structure represented by the following general formula (1) (in the formula, R.sup.11 is a residue formed by removing one isocyanate group from a polyisocyanate, and R.sup.12 is an alkyl group or an alkoxy group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, R.sup.13 is a residue formed by removing one hydroxyl group from a polyol), wherein a König hardness of the coating film is 20 or more, in an SS curve measurement of a tensile test, the coating film has an elastic deformation region and a plastic deformation region, and in the SS curve measurement, a stress at an inflection point stress between the elastic deformation region and the plastic deformation region is 5 MPa or more.

FLUORINE-CONTAINING POLYMER, COATING COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING COATED ARTICLE, AND COATED ARTICLE
A fluorine-containing polymer having repeating units derived from (a) a fluorine-containing monomer, (b) a fluorine-free non-crosslinkable monomer, and (c) a fluorine-free crosslinkable monomer. The fluorine-containing monomer (a) is a compound represented by formula: CH.sub.2═C(-X)—C(═O)—Y—Z—Rf . . . (a-I), wherein X is a hydrogen atom, a monovalent organic group or a halogen atom, Y is —O— or —NH—, Z is a direct bond or a divalent organic group, and Rf is a fluoroalkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms. The fluorine-free non-crosslinkable monomer (b) includes (b1) a cyclic hydrocarbon group-containing monomer and (b2) a low Tg monomer, a homopolymer of which has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of lower than 0° C. Also disclosed is a coating composition including the fluorine-containing polymer and a liquid medium, a method for producing a coated article which includes coating an article with the coating composition and a coated article.

A polyurethane resin includes a reaction product of a raw material component containing a polyisocyanate, a macropolyol, a hydrophilic group-containing polyol, and a chain extender. The polyisocyanate is an alicyclic polyisocyanate. The macropolyol contains a plant-derived macropolyol. A biomass degree of the reaction product is 30% or more.
WATER-DISPERSIBLE POLYISOCYANATE, AQUEOUS POLYURETHANE RESIN COMPOSITION, AND ARTICLE
A water-dispersible polyisocyanate contains an isocyanate group and a sulfone group. The water-dispersible polyisocyanate contains a reaction product of a polyisocyanate component and a hydrophilic active hydrogen component. The polyisocyanate component contains a bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane derivative. The hydrophilic active hydrogen component contains a sulfone group-containing active hydrogen compound. The bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane derivative contains an allophanate derivative and an isocyanurate derivative. The allophanate derivative is contained in an amount of 25% by mass or more and 75% by mass or less relative to the total amount of the allophanate derivative and the isocyanurate derivative.

Provided herein are methods of making a reactive particulate material by free radically polymerizing a single-cure resin to produce a polymer, the resin comprising: a reactive blocked polyurethane prepolymer, a reactive blocked polyurea prepolymer, a reactive blocked polyurethane-polyurea copolymer, or a combination thereof, wherein said polymerizing is carried out by dispersive polymerization (e.g., an emulsion, suspension or dispersion polymerization process), to form said reactive particulate material. Methods of use of the reactive particulate material and material sets including the same are also provided.
