COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
Provided is a composition, with which it is possible, by means of a simple application process, to form an organic film that has excellent performance, such as optical and electrical properties, and exhibits optical anisotropy. This composition, which exhibits lyotropic liquid crystallinity, contains: a polymer (P) having an acidic functional group; water; and a compound (A) that is at least one selected from the group consisting of a basic monomer and a base-generating agent. The composition contains: a polymer (P) having a partial structure shown in formula (0); water; and a compound (A) that is at least one selected from the group consisting of a basic monomer and a base-generating agent. Formula (0) has at least one acidic functional group.
LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND AND DISPLAY DEVICE THEREOF
A liquid crystal composition includes at least one compound of general Formula I, at least one compound of general Formula II and at least one compound of general Formula M. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition provides a higher VHR (especially an excellent VHR after UV irradiation), a lower surface roughness of the polymer layer, a faster polymerization rate, a lower residual amount of the polymerizable compound and a better pretilt angle stability, which enables the production of a liquid crystal display device with a better voltage stability and a faster response speed, and can effectively reduce or prevent the occurrences of problems such as “burn-in”, “image sticking”, “Zara Particle” and “uneven display” in the liquid crystal display device. A liquid crystal display includes the liquid crystal composition.

A laminate having: a barrier layer A; and a light absorption anisotropic film B, in which the barrier layer A is adjacently provided on the light absorption anisotropic film B, a relationship between a highest content of a compound A1 contained in the barrier layer A and a highest content of a compound B1 contained in the light absorption anisotropic film B satisfies a relationship in which a value of distance calculated from Hansen solubility parameters and represented by Formula (I) is within a range of 0.0 to 5.0, and the light absorption anisotropic film B contains a component same as the compound A1.

As a material to be used in a device used for phase control of an electromagnetic wave signal with a frequency of 1 MHz to 400 THz, a liquid crystal composition having a high maximum temperature of a nematic phase, a low minimum temperature of the nematic phase, large optical anisotropy, small dielectric loss, and thermal stability in a frequency range used for phase control and having good balance between characteristics is required. A liquid crystal composition used for phase control of an electromagnetic wave signal with any frequency of 1 MHz to 400 THz containing at least one compound selected from a group consisting of compounds represented by formula (1) and at least one compound selected from a group consisting of compounds represented by formula (2).

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel that includes a liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal composition; and a light source that emits light on the liquid crystal panel, the liquid crystal composition containing at least one of a first liquid crystal compound containing a phenyl group and a conjugated bond group that forms a conjugated system continuous with the phenyl group and a second liquid crystal compound containing an alkenyl group not forming a conjugated system, the light source emitting green light having a half width of less than 50 nm.
