Bed
A bed (1) comprising, a base part, with a patient support base (10) arranged above the base part, and including a position configurable patient support (19), four telescopic elevator columns (5), mounted on said base part. The four elevator columns (5) are arranged as a first and a second pair of telescopic elevator columns (5). The bed (1) has two cross-beams (8) for supporting the patient support base (10). An operator housing (9) is mounted on at least one of said cross-beams (8). The operator housing (9) comprises means for configuring said position configurable patient support (19). The operation housing (9) and said patient support base (10) comprising mutually releasable connection means.
Gurney Restraint System
The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a gurney in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a conventional antler and rail-type gurney restraint system is improved by the addition of a center latch restraint that engages with a latch member secured by a support bracket to the underside of the gurney. In one configuration, the latch member enters into engagement with the center latch restraint through lateral movement of the control end of the gurney. In that respect, the EMT may use the same autonomic movements used with the conventional antler and rail-type system to secure the gurney in the vehicle. Optionally, one or more of the gurney occupant restraint belts are directly connected to the support bracket, whereby occupant loads during an accident will bypass the gurney and occupant head excursions can be reduced.
STEP SYSTEM FOR PATIENT STRETCHER
A step system including a patient support member having a deployable step assembly including a deployable step. The deployable step assembly is fixed and integral to the patient support member and is configured to deploy as needed to provide a sturdy platform for at least one medical professional in a standing position while performing medical procedures on a patient. The deployable step assembly may include deployable steps on both a right-side and a left-side of the patient support member.
Person support apparatuses with drive controls
A person support apparatus includes a base, wheels, a drive system, a support surface, a lift system, and a control. The control controls the drive system in response to forward/reverse forces applied thereto, and also controls the lift system in response to upward or downward forces applied thereto. In some embodiments, a controller compares a magnitude of the forward/reverse force to a magnitude of the upward/downward force and commands the drive system to drive the wheels if the magnitude of the forward/reverse force exceeds the magnitude of the upward/downward force. The control may include a user-engageable portion that is constructed to not move with respect to a force sensor when forward or reverse forces are applied to the user-engageable portion. The controller controls the drive system in response to the forward or reverse forces applied to the user-engageable portion.
Powered roll-in cots having wheel alignment mechanisms
Roll-in cots having wheel alignment mechanisms. According to one embodiment, a roll-in cot includes a support frame, a pair of legs pivotably and slidably coupled to the support frame, and a pair of hinge members that are pivotably coupled to the support frame and to one of the legs. The roll-in cot also includes a wheel linkage pivotably coupled to the pair of legs and a wheel alignment mechanism. The legs and the hinge members pivot relative to one another in a relative angular rotation ratio and the wheel alignment mechanism rotates the wheel alignment mechanism relative to the hinge members at a reduction ratio. The relative angular rotation ratio of the legs and the hinge members is approximately inverse to the reduction ratio of the wheel alignment mechanism.
Patient Transport Apparatus With Defined Transport Height
Patient transport apparatus with defined transport height comprises a support structure and a litter that are interconnected by a lift mechanism. The support structure comprises a base frame and a plurality of articulable support members or legs. The litter comprises a litter frame and a patient support surface with articulating back and leg sections. The lift mechanism may comprise one or more actuators configured to raise and lower the litter between a lowered position and one or more defined raised positions. The Patient transport apparatus may further comprise a controller coupled to one or more sensors and the lift mechanism. The controller may be configured to define a transport height for the litter based, at least in part, on a characteristic detected by the one or more sensors, and to manipulate the lift mechanism to adjust the litter to the defined transport height.
Stretcher
A stretcher has a rectangle-shaped subject placement portion on which a subject is placed and a carrying device carrying the subject placement portion, comprising: a switching part switched to any one of at least two states; and a switching device switching a state of the switching part in accordance with a supplied gas pressure. The at least two states include a state in which the switching part prevents movement of the subject placement portion and a state in which the switching part allows the movement.
Patient Transport Apparatus With Controlled Auxiliary Wheel Speed
A patient transport apparatus transports a patient over a floor surface. The patient transport apparatus comprises a base and support wheels coupled to the base. An auxiliary wheel is coupled to the base to influence motion of the patient transport apparatus over the floor surface to assist users. A wheel drive system is operatively coupled to the auxiliary wheel to rotate the auxiliary wheel relative to the base at a rotational speed. A throttle assembly having a throttle operably coupled to the actuator. The throttle is movable in a first position, a second position, and intermediate positions between the first and second positions. The rotational speed of the auxiliary wheel changes in a non-linear manner with respect to movement of the throttle.
AMBULANCE COT AND LOADING AND UNLOADING SYSTEM
An ambulance cot and cot loading and unloading system for an emergency vehicle comprises a cot having a head end, a base for mounting to a deck of an emergency vehicle, a track mounted for linear movement along said base, and an arm mounted for linear movement along said track from a retracted position to an extended position. The arm is and configured to engage the cot, and wherein when the track is extended along the base and the arm is extended along the track the arm is extended from the base in an extended position and is configured for lifting the cot and providing cantilevered support to the cot while in the extended position.
