VEHICLE MOUNTED STOWABLE ACCESS RAMP
Methods and systems for stowing and extending a stowable access ramp mounted to a wheelchair accessible vehicle are disclosed. One such system includes a stowable ramp extendable between a stacked position and an extended position. The ramp includes an upper panel for forming an upper part of the ramp, a mid panel for forming a middle part of the ramp, and a lower panel for forming a lower portion of the ramp. The mid panel is hingedly coupled to the upper panel for pivoting the mid panel into ramp alignment with the upper panel during extension of the ramp and the lower ramp is hingedly coupled to the mid panel for pivoting the lower panel into ramp alignment with the mid panel during extension of the ramp. The upper panel, mid panel, and lower panel stack atop each other for stowing in the stacked position.
VEHICLE DOOR MOUNTED LIFT ASSIST DEVICE
A lift assist device employs a striker mounting assembly having a case with a receiving chamber having a top channel and a lower channel. A striker housing is removably insertable in the receiving chamber and has a receiver adapted to be inserted over a striker on a door of a vehicle. The striker housing has a top flange with an upper alignment aperture and a bottom flange with a lower alignment aperture, the upper alignment aperture and lower alignment aperture aligned with the top channel and lower channel with the striker housing inserted in the receiving chamber. A striker pin assembly is adapted for removable insertion through the top channel, upper alignment aperture into a striker on a door of a vehicle and through the lower aperture into the lower channel. A pivot assembly is engaged to the case with a pivot pin. A lift assembly has a mounting structure engaged to the pivot assembly with a telescoping support arm depending from the mounting structure. A seat is attached to a terminal end of the telescoping support arm.
RAMP ASSEMBLY WITH RAISED RAMP POSITION
A ramp assembly to accommodate a wheel-chaired passenger to enter or exit a motorized vehicle includes a frame, a ramp movable relative to the frame, a drive block configured to move the ramp relative to the frame, a linkage arm having a first end pivotably coupled to the drive block, a linkage panel pivotably coupled to the linkage arm and a rear end of the ramp, and an upper roller pivotably coupled to the linkage panel for rotation about a pivot axis of the linkage panel to facilitate rotation of the ramp relative to the frame.
PERSONAL CONVEYANCE APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
Apparatus for carrying a personal conveyance device on a vehicle and transporting the personal conveyance device around the vehicle.
PATIENT TRANSPORTING DEVICE USING A DOCKING MEMBER FOR AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL VEHICLE
The present disclosure provides a patient transporting device having a docking member at one end of the patient transporting device that allows to attach to and detach from a receiving portion of the patient loading systems in an emergency vehicle. The device includes a moveable base member that a patient lies down on, a pathway member for the base member to slidably move along tracks of the pathway member, and a docking member at one end of the pathway member that fits and mates with the receiving portion of the vehicle. In operation, the docking member docks with the receiving portion and establishes an extended bridge formed of the pathway member and the docking member of the device and the receiving portion of the vehicle. The extended bridge has a substantially coplanar surface so that the patient lying down on the base member may be easily loaded to the vehicle.

PERSONAL WHEELCHAIR MOTORIZED VEHICLE SYSTEM
A motor vehicle for independent use by an individual in a wheelchair, comprising an open air vehicle body including a floor further comprising a front, a rear, and lateral sides, said floor sized and shaped to receive and retain a wheelchair; a motor; at least one front and at least one rear wheel supporting said vehicle body and floor, each of said front and rear wheels attached rotatably near an underside of a corner of the vehicle body; at least one actuator attaching said floor to said at least one rear wheel, wherein said floor can be lowered to a ground surface and raised to a level floor position; wherein a rear portion of said floor is structured to fold upward to form said rear side and fold downward to be in line with said floor; and a steering control assembly coupled to said at least one front wheel.
Modified door opening of a motorized vehicle for accommodating a ramp system and method thereof
A method of increasing a door opening width of a crossover vehicle to accommodate a wheelchair ramp or lift assembly. The method includes positioning a template on a B pillar and a template on a C pillar and marking cut lines on the pillars. The method includes cutting along the cut lines with a cutting tool to remove portions of the B pillar and the C pillar. A B pillar cover assembly is assembled and a reinforcement plate is coupled to a remaining portion of the C pillar. An adhesive is applied to the B pillar cover assembly and to a C pillar cap. A modified B pillar is produced by coupling the B pillar cover assembly to a remaining portion of the B pillar, and a modified C pillar is produced by coupling the C pillar cap to the reinforcement plate and the remaining portion of the C pillar.
Device and method for securing a mobility device in a vehicle
A device for securing a mobility device in a mobility vehicle or on a lifting device that is installed in or on a mobility vehicle or trailer. The securing device comprises a docking assembly including a first member fixedly attachable to the vehicle floor and a second member having a top and being vertically adjustably connected with the first member; an alignment rod connectable with the frame of a mobility device; a locking assembly including a tubular receiving member affixed to the top of the second member, having an opening at one end to a receiving passageway that is sized and configured to receive the alignment rod therein and having a top and a bottom and defining a slot in the top and registration opening in the bottom, the locking assembly further including a locking pin assembly mounted to the second member and operable to extend through the registration opening and lockingly engage with the alignment rod; and a guide assembly for aligning the mobility device into position for locking engagement with the receiving member.
Self-aligning platform mechanism for low-floor vehicles access device
A mechanism for deploying and aligning a ramp relative to a platform includes a main bearing operatively associated with the platform and rotatable about a main pivot axis; a drive member disposed on the main bearing, the drive member being adapted to drive the main bearing to rotate about the main pivot axis; a rotating member disposed on the main bearing and rotatable about the main pivot axis with the main bearing; and a ramp member rotatably connected to the rotating member at a pivot point eccentric to the main pivot axis. Rotation of the rotating member causes the ramp member to move between a stowed position and a deployed position in an arcuate path about the main pivot axis.
