FLOOR PANEL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES
A vehicle flooring system for converting regular vehicles into wheelchair accessible vehicles. The flooring system is made up of individual flooring panels connected via a snap fit type tongue and lip connection. Each individual panel contains an integral track. The integral track forms a positive lock with the track channels. The flooring system is able to satisfy government regulations concerning seat and wheelchair location pull testing.
Locking system of a wheelchair
A locking system of a wheelchair is disclosed. The locking system includes a locking member, an actuator, a locking frame, and an opening. The opening is disposed within the locking frame. The actuator is in communication with the locking member and is configured to move the locking member within the opening. The actuator is operable in a retracted operation state and an extended operation state. The actuator is configured to move the locking member in an upward direction when the locking system is set from the extended operation state to the retracted operation state. The actuator is configured to move the locking member in a downward direction when the locking system is set from the retracted operation state to the extended operation state, and the locking member is naturally biased in the extended operation state.
Anti-tip lateral transfer system
A lateral transfer system and method for transferring a patient between a fixed structure and a mobile vehicle. The system including A) a patient transfer device having a frame fixed to wheels and a carriage platform movably attached to the frame, the carriage platform having one or more extendable platform sections for lateral movement of the platform relative to the frame and wheels, and B) a stabilizer system for the patient transfer device. The stabilizer system including a portable platform having two opposing sloped ramps on a first and second sides thereof, a bracket fixedly attached to the platform adjacent a first end thereof, wherein the bracket is adapted for receiving a slide plate appendage attached to the frame of the patient transfer device, wherein the second end of the ramp has a length sufficient to prevent tipping of the platform during a patient transfer maneuver.
APPLICATION-BASED CONTROLS FOR WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
The subject disclosure relates to techniques for application-based controls of a wheelchair-accessible autonomous vehicle. A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for receiving a request for a wheelchair-accessible autonomous vehicle (WAV) to execute an ingress function, wherein the ingress function includes a deployment of a wheelchair ramp by the WAV, sending an ingress command to the WAV in response to the request, wherein the ingress command comprises instructions cause the WAV to execute the ingress function at a specified pick-up location, and receiving feedback from the WAV, the feedback includes sensor data associated with a wheelchair ramp and status information associated with the ingress function. Machine-readable media and systems are also provided.
WHEELCHAIR RESTRAINT MECHANISM
The present disclosure provides a wheelchair restraint mechanism that renders easy alignment between a striker and a latch. One mode of the present disclosure is a wheelchair restraint mechanism for restraining a wheelchair to a restraining member installed on a vehicle. The wheelchair restraint mechanism includes an engagement target portion and an engagement portion. The engagement target portion includes a striker having a rod shape extending in up-down directions. The engagement portion includes: a housing member to house the striker; a latch to limit separation of the striker from the housing member; and a guide member to guide the striker towards the housing member. The guide member includes a first guide surface and a second guide surface, which face each other in width directions of the wheelchair and have a distance therebetween decreasing towards the housing member.
WHEELCHAIR RESTRAINT APPARATUS
The present disclosure provides a wheelchair restraint apparatus that renders easy adjustment of a restraining position of a wheelchair inside a vehicle. One aspect of the present disclosure is a wheelchair restraint apparatus configured to restrain a wheelchair inside a vehicle. The wheelchair restraint apparatus includes a main body having a seat belt, and a restrained mechanism to and from which the wheelchair is attachable and detachable; and a slide mechanism configured to cause the main body to slide with respect to the vehicle. The restraint mechanism is configured to restrain the wheelchair in a state where a part of the wheelchair is inserted to the restraint mechanism in a traveling direction of the wheelchair.
RAIL VEHICLE WITH FULLY INTEGRATED WHEELCHAIR ZONE
A rail vehicle for transporting passengers includes at least one wheelchair zone, at least one boarding door, at least one sanitary unit, and at least one galley. The sanitary unit and the galley are disposed between the boarding door and the wheelchair zone. An aisle or path, which is configured to be adequate for wheelchair use, leads from the boarding door to the wheelchair zone.
Rear Excursion Backrest for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
A backrest device that normally supports the occupant and moves forward with said occupant during a forward impact/crash event. The device is equipped with a spring activated biased ratcheting mechanism that provides only forward movement, thus reducing the amount of dangerous rear excursion during the rebound phase, as measured by the occupant's head and torso.
SECURING SYSTEM FOR WHEELCHAIRS IN VEHICLES AND A METHOD FOR UNLOCKING AND LOCKING A SECURING SYSTEM FOR WHEELCHAIRS IN VEHICLES
Securing system for wheelchairs in vehicles, comprising a rigid bottom frame provided with; —a number of fixation means which are connected to the if bottom frame and suitable for fixing a wheelchair relative to the bottom frame, wherein each fixation means comprises a coupling element configured for coupling to a wheelchair, which coupling element is connected with a cable to a retractor, which retractor in unlocked mode exerts a retracting pulling force on the coupling element while the cable can be pulled out, and in locked mode locks the cable so that it cannot be pulled out, wherein the retractors are fixedly connected to the bottom frame and are preferably placed adjacently of each other, and a central securing control for simultaneous operation of the retractors.
User Control Device for a Transporter
A user control device for a transporter. The user control device can communicate with the transporter via electrical interface(s) that can facilitate communication and data processing among the user interface device and controllers that can control the movement of the transporter. The user control device can perform automated actions based on the environment in which the transporter operates and the user's desired movement of the transporter. External applications can enable monitoring and control of the transporter.
