Resin particles are provided. The resin particles include one or more binder resins, a release agent, and a colorant. The one or more binder resins include an amorphous resin. The amorphous resin contains an alcohol component as one of the constituents thereof. The alcohol component includes a plant-derived alcohol component. The resin particles contain a tetrahydrofuran (THF)-insoluble component by an amount of from 5% by mass through 40% by mass.

High-solids content solvent-based adhesive compositions and methods of making same

A two-component adhesive composition is disclosed. The adhesive composition comprises an isocyanate component comprising an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer that is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and an isocyanate reactive component having an average molecular weight greater than 1,000 that comprises a polyester polyol that is the reaction product of a polyhydric alcohol and a polybasic acid. The NCO content of the isocyanate component is, optionally, between 3 and 9%. The isocyanate reactive component comprises a polyester polyol that accounts for 50 wt % or more of the isocyanate reactive component. The composition further comprises a polyol component comprising polyether polyols having an average molecular weight less than 1,500. The composition still further comprises an adhesion promoter. The average functionality of the adhesive composition is from 2 to 2.4. The adhesive composition provides for improved performance and processability. A method for forming a laminate is also disclosed. A laminate formed by this method is also disclosed.

An aqueous polyurethane resin dispersion, the polyurethane resin having a cationic group and a polyalkylene oxide in a side chain thereof and is obtainable by reacting a polyisocyanate with a polyether diol and with a polymeric diol such as a polyester diol, polyether diol, polycarbonate diol, polyacrylate diol or polyolefin diol and with a cationic polyol selected from the group consisting of an quaternary ammonium, a quaternary phosphonium, a tertiary sulfonium and a iodonium wherein the cationic polyol comprises at least two hydroxyl groups and has a total number of carbon atoms making up the carbon chains between the cationic charged atom and a hetero atom or end of the carbon chain of the cation over charge ratio of at least 12. The aqueous dispersion can be used in treatment liquids for inkjet printing and in inkjet inks.

An aqueous polyurethane resin dispersion, the polyurethane resin having a polyalkylene oxide in a side chain thereof and is obtainable by reacting in an organic solvent, a polyisocyanate with a 1,2 or 1,3 polyether diol and with a polymeric diol selected from the group consisting of polyester diol, polyether diol, polycarbonate diol, polyacrylate diol and polyolefin diol and by adding a cationic surfactant or cationic surfactant precursor to the organic solvent.

Pest-resistant polyurethane spray foam formulations and products, including building insulation, are described. The “B” side of the formulation comprises water; a polyol composition comprising one or more polyols selected from glycerin-sucrose polyols, Mannich polyols, and aromatic polyester polyols, catalyst(s); surfactant(s); a blowing agent; and 0.5 to 5 wt.%, based on the amount of spray foam formulation, of a composition comprising a capsaicin compound. Capsaicin compounds can be successfully incorporated into spray foam formulations that process well to give high- quality foams. The foams inhibit termite infestation and can help to minimize or avoid structural damage that might otherwise go undetected.

A thermoplastic polyurethane can be obtained by a process involving a reaction of a thermoplastic polyester (PE-1) with a diamine (D1), to obtain a composition (Z1) containing an amide (PA-1), and a reaction of the obtained composition (Z1) with an isocyanate composition (I1), containing at least one polyisocyanate, and a polyol composition (P1). The diamine (D1) has a molecular weight in the range from 50 g/mol to 700 g/mol. A process can produce such a thermoplastic polyurethane, and shaped articles can be made containing the thermoplastic polyurethane.

The present invention discloses a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU), and a preparation method, use and product thereof. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer comprises the following components with respect to the total weight of TPU: 22-55 wt % of an aromatic diisocyanate and/or alicyclic diisocyanate; 2-16 wt % of a chain extender; and 30-70 wt % of a polyester polyol. The invention can reduce a TPU injection molding shrinkage to 0.2% or less, and can increase the thermal decomposition temperature to up to 300° C., and can obtain elastomeric materials of different hardnesses, thus having a broad prospect of application in 3D printing methods.

Particle foams consisting of an aromatic polyester-polyurethane multi-block copolymer

Foamed pellets contain a block copolymer. The block copolymer is obtained or obtainable by a process involving the reaction of an aromatic polyester (PE-1) with an isocyanate composition (IC), containing at least one diisocyanate, and with a polyol composition (PC). The polyol composition (PC) contains at least one aliphatic polyol (P1) having a number-average molecular weight ≥500 g/mol. A process can be used for the production of such foamed pellets. The foamed pellets can be used for the production of a molded body.
