PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING AROMATIC DIAMINE-INITIATED POLYETHER POLYOLS
Processes are described for producing an aromatic diamine-initiated polyether polyol having a measured OH number of 300 to 500 mg KOH/g and a viscosity at 25° C. of 5000 to 50,000 mPas. The processes include a first alkoxylation step in which an alkylene oxide consisting essentially of propylene oxide is reacted with a starter consisting essentially of aromatic diamine at a molar ratio of propylene oxide to aromatic diamine of 1.4:1 to 2.0:1 to form an alkoxylated product; and a second alkoxylation step in which an alkylene oxide consisting essentially of propylene oxide is reacted with the alkoxylated product, in the presence of an added catalyst, until the ratio of moles of propylene oxide added in the process to the moles of aromatic diamine added in the process is 4:1 to 9:1.
Viscoelastic Elastomeric Polyurethane Foams, Process for Preparing Them and Use Thereof
Disclosed herein are viscoelastic elastomeric polyurethane foams, a process for preparing them and a method of using them in making shaped articles. Further disclosed herein are of viscoelastic elastomeric polyurethane foams having improved, unique impact absorption performance.
Composition kit for preparing polyurethane foam and preparation method and application thereof
A composition kit for preparing a polyurethane foam and a preparation method and applications thereof are provided. The composition kit for preparing a polyurethane foam includes a first component and a second component. The first component and the second component are disposed in different containers respectively. The first component includes an organic isocyanate and a low boiling point foaming agent. The second component includes a polyol composition, a high boiling point foaming agent, a composite catalyst, water, and a silicone oil.
Polyol premixes, thermally insulating rigid polyurethane foams and methods for their production
Polyol premixes and thermally insulating rigid polyurethane foams, such as those that can be used as a thermal insulation medium in the construction of refrigerated storage devices, are disclosed. A polymer polyol having a OH number of greater than 260 mg KOH/g is utilized. The resulting polyurethane foams can exhibit improved thermal insulation properties without sacrificing other important physical and processing properties.
Process for Forming a Laminate
The present disclosure provides a process for forming a laminate. The process includes (A) uniformly applying an isocyanate component to a first substrate, the isocyanate component containing an isocyanate compound; (B) uniformly applying an isocyanate-reactive component to a second substrate, the isocyanate-reactive component containing an amine-terminated compound; (C) bringing the first substrate and the second substrate together, thereby mixing and reacting the isocyanate component and the isocyanate-reactive component to form an adhesive composition between the first substrate and the second substrate; (D) curing the adhesive composition to bond the first substrate and the second substrate; and (E) forming the laminate.
RIGID POLYURETHANE FOAM MADE WITH A HYDROCARBON BLOWING AGENT AND 1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUOROBUT-2-ENE
Polyurethane thermal insulating foam is made in the presence of a small amount of cis- and/or trans-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobut-2-ene and a hydrocarbon blowing agent. Very low lambda values are obtained.
MASS FIXABLE BY ACTINIC RADIATION, AND USE OF SAID MASS
The invention relates to isocyanate-based, storage-stable, one-part compositions that are fixable by irradiation with actinic radiation and curable by heat. The composition comprises (A) an at least bifunctional, solid isocyanate having a passivated surface and a melting point of at least 40° C.; (B) an isocyanate-reactive component selected from the group of alcohols, amines and thiols, and mixtures thereof; (C) a radiation-curable compound; and (D) a photoinitiator. Optionally, further additives (E) can be contained in the composition according to the present invention. The compositions, by fixation with actinic radiation, can be transferred into a state that ensures dimensional stability of the compositions during heat curing.
