WATERBORNE POLYURETHANE DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME

A waterborne polyurethane dispersion is provided. The waterborne polyurethane dispersion comprises residual moiety of a hydroxy-terminated siloxane compound in the main chain and exhibits good anti-stickiness and/or wet color fastness while retaining superior mechanical properties. A laminated synthetic leather article prepared with said waterborne polyurethane dispersion as well the method for preparing the synthetic leather article are also provided.

Thermoplastic polyurethane

A polyurethane, in particular a thermoplastic polyurethane, is obtainable or obtained by reacting at least a polyisocyanate composition and a polyol composition. The polyol composition contains at least one polyester diol or polyether diol, having a number-average molecular weight in the range from 500 to 3000 g/mol, and at least one polysiloxane having two terminal isocyanate-reactive functionalities selected from a thio group, a hydroxyl group, and an amino group. A process can be used for preparing this polyurethane, and a molded body containing the polyurethane is useful. Foam beads based on polyurethane can be obtained or obtainable from the polyurethane, and a process can be used for producing foam beads. Corresponding bead foams are useful.

The present invention relates to a porous layer structure containing a base material and a polyurethane porous layer formed on the base material, wherein a moisture permeability A of the porous layer structure measured by JIS L1099 A-1 (calcium chloride method) is 2000 to 10000 g/(m.sup.2.Math.24h), a moisture permeability loss rate obtained by a predetermined formula from a moisture permeability B of the base material alone measured by JIS L1099 A-1 (calcium chloride method) and the moisture permeability A is 75% or less, and a peel strength at a bonding surface between the base material and the polyurethane porous layer is 0.7 kgf/inch or more.

Functionalized accelerating resins derived from renewable materials

The present invention relates to curable polyurethane polymers made from renewable materials and having polymerization accelerator groups built into the polymer. In particular hydroxylated oleaginous materials derived from plant oils, such as soybean oil, are used. These renewable materials may be formed into curable polyurethane polymers having different chemical functionalities and cure mechanisms.
